This is an amazing and interesting experience unlike any poke/sashimi dining experience we've had before. We placed our order online for last Friday. Josh was out fishing all day and didn't have much luck that day. It can be frustrating at times not hearing from them about the order, but they have a very small team and literally can't respond to your texts and calls while they are at sea. When you order fresh fish from boat to table, you have to be patient and ready for the possibility of not having the order that day. Josh had a great day the following Friday and texted me as soon as they got back. I saw them unloading the fish on Instagram Live, and what's really cool is later on we got to see Josh prepare the 100lb tuna into the ahi sashimi and poke in person. That was a whole experience in itself to understand where the food you eat comes from. Josh is also a really friendly and chill guy who's fun to hang out with. We learned a lot about the local culture and fishing life. We ordered 2 sashimi and poke platters and shared between 6 people (we were so full and still had extras). The lunatic poke sauce and the smoke dip were SO good. Definitely worth the wait.
Unreel Hawaiian Fresh Poke Experience ?? Order pick up and get a chance to meet Josh, Erika, and Crew. Lucky me, I got there just before they made my order. Be prepared for the best poke sashimi experience of your life. How is poke made at the Ahi Assassins Prep Shop? The first step, where is the fresh fish? The giant Ahi is rolled out of a walk-in fridge. Yes, I got to see both a Yellowtail Ahi and Bigeye Ahi.The second step, the cutting, and storytelling of how the fish was caught. Yes, their fish is caught using a fishing pole by hand.Last step, the plating, and more story talk. I learned about the different grades of poke and how many years the Ahi lives. My order was for a poke kit and sashimi platter for pick up. My favorite sauce is their lunatic. The only thing that would make the trip better. Order the large, they sell out and the girlfriend got mad because the sashimi didn't make it back home.If you are staying in Waikiki, take the H3. The view is worth the extra couple of minutes.
Ordered online, they accepted payment, didn't deliver and they don't answer my calls, emails or text messages.
