My first visit to L&L Hawaiian Barbecue in Kaneohe Windward City Shopping Center was truly a memorable experience, and it introduced me to a culinary delight I had never tried before: the Ramen Burger with Fries. From the moment I took my first bite, I was hooked. The star of the show, the Ramen Burger, was unlike anything I had ever tasted. The combination of the crunchy, slightly sweet ramen bun with the savory burger patty created a flavor explosion in my mouth. What stood out to me the most was the unique texture of the ramen bun—it was both crispy and chewy, providing the perfect complement to the juicy burger. Additionally, the "noodle kick" added an extra layer of flavor that elevated the dish to new heights. It was a delightful fusion of flavors and textures that left me craving more.Accompanying my Ramen Burger were a side of fries, which were equally delicious. Golden and crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, they were the perfect accompaniment to the main dish. Each fry was seasoned to perfection, adding an extra burst of flavor to every bite. While I was busy indulging in my Ramen Burger, my mom opted for the Kalbi plate, a classic Hawaiian barbecue dish. She thoroughly enjoyed it, savoring every bite of the tender, marinated beef ribs. The flavors were rich and savory, and the portion size was generous, making it a satisfying meal. One of the aspects that impressed me the most about L&L Hawaiian Barbecue was the affordability of the menu. Despite offering high-quality, flavorful dishes, the prices were reasonable, making it accessible to everyone. This combination of great taste and affordability is what sets L&L apart and makes it a go-to spot for a delicious meal.Overall, my experience at L&L Hawaiian Barbecue was exceptional, and I will definitely be returning. From the innovative and delicious Ramen Burger to the classic Kalbi plate, every dish was a testament to the culinary expertise of the chefs. Add to that the affordable prices and friendly service, and you have a winning combination that is hard to beat.Whether you're a fan of Hawaiian barbecue or looking to try something new and exciting like the Ramen Burger, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue is the place to go. With its flavorful dishes, welcoming atmosphere, and reasonable prices, it's no wonder that my first visit won't be my last. I highly recommend giving it a try—you won't be disappointed.

Line was long but I was able to order my food in just a few minutes and got my order within 15 minutes. The chicken katsu plate was delicious , at least at this location. They filled my plate up was extra chicken, which more is better than less.

Got lucky! There was only 2 people in line ahead of us. Whenever I've gone before there has always been a long line but service is quick. Good, fast, affordable comfort food for the soul. Not fancy, only delicious!

Eddie Flores Sr and Johnson Kam purchased the original L & L Restaurant on Liliha Street in Honolulu in 1976 and maintained its name. "L & L" stood for "Lee and Lee," the last names of its first owners. Flores and Kam expanded its locations to the Mainland in 1999 and now number 200+ in the US, Guam, and Japan. Kam has since retired, and L & L Hawaiian Barbecue is now headed by father and daughter team of Eddie Flores and Elisia, with Elisia as CEO in 2014. L & L is a Hawaiian-themed franchised restaurant chain that is iconic to the Hawaiian plate lunch of two scoops rice, one scoop mac salad, and meat or seafood. Its influenced by Asian and Hawaiian flavors, with its plate lunches such as chicken katsu, kalua pork, teriyaki beef, etc. In addition to these basic dishes, the franchises are given the flexibility to offer additional menu offerings. Some years ago, after posting my homemade sweet-sour spareribs that I had made based on how my mother made them, Yelper Paul C. mentioned to me that the L&L in the Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center offers this Chinese style, old-school sweet-sour spareribs, and that I should try it. Now, I'm rarely in Kaneohe, so years have passed, but I had not forgotten what Paul had said about the sweet & sour spareribs. As I was in Kaneohe on a recent Sunday, that opportunity to visit L&L emerged. As I entered the restaurant, I was greeted with a pleasant welcome and asked how I could be helped. I mentioned sweet & sour spareribs, and staff suggested I order the tub. The tub had only the spare ribs and lots of gravy that I could mix with the hot rice that I had at home. I also tried their container of mac salad. The spare ribs were delicious, meat that was soft enough to fall off the bone, and the delicious vinegary gravy as how I remembered it. Although not exactly the same, the taste was similar to how I make it, with the heavy vinegar and brown and white sugars, shoyu, and ginger. There was an additional taste, something like Chinese 5-spice seasoning that took it a step further. Delicious and tasty! Loved how the sauce complemented the hot rice well, and the coldness of the mac salad gave it another texture. And the mac salad was equally delicious, as it contained minced onion! Yes, Chinese style spare ribs and old school too! Now I know where to get this if I don't wish to cook! Thanks, Paul C.! Staff was very efficient, friendly, and wanting to accommodate. Orders were processed promptly. While I was waiting, customers were consistently coming in to place their orders, considering we were there during an off-peak time. Yes, a popular restaurant in the community! The interior was very bright, clean, and with an easy-to-read menu. You can dine in or take out. This L&L is located in the Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center in Kaneohe on Kamehameha Hwy, and is anchored by CVS Longs and Safeway; it is across from Windward Mall. I was in the area, specifically at the Windward City Shopping Center on Kaneohe Bay Drive and is anchored by CVS Longs, McDonalds, and Foodland. Not being familiar with Kaneohe, I was somewhat confused, as how "Kaneohe Bay" was used, i.e., this specific L&L was located in the Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center, and the CVS Longs that I had to go to for my Covid shot was on Kaneohe Bay Drive, and it also had a L&L location there. It took awhile, reading the reviews on Yelp, to determine that the L&L that I needed to go to was at the Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center. Hours of operation are Mon to Sat 10a to 10p and Sun 10a to 9p. Free parking in the private lot that is shared by other businesses in the shopping complex. So glad that I found a place where I can get authentic Chinese old-school sweet & sour spareribs, and better yet, followed through on Paul's suggestion after all these years! And also knowing that the mac salad is so good! If that's an indication on how good the food is, I look forward in returning to try their many other menu offerings (heard their chicken katsu and sauce is one

After visiting the nearby botanical gardens I was starving and in need of some good food. This was the first time visiting an L&L restaurant and it is what got me hooked on the chain. The menu is expansive with so many options to choose from. Between two people we decided on a "Bar-B-Que mixed plate" and a "Kalua pork with cabbage" meal. The portion sizes were huge and it meant we had enough left over for dinner. Each meal came with rice, macaroni salad and the mains. The Kalua pork with cabbage was delicious. There was so much flavour and it was cooked to perfection. They were very generous with the amount of meat in the meal. The Bar-B-Que mixed plate included short ribs, chicken and teriyaki steak. Each was as delicious as the other but the flavour of the steak was a winner. The person taking our order was friendly and efficient at what he was doing. The dining room is very casual and no frills.I would absolutely recommend L&L for anyone in Hawaii wanting good food!Parking: Parking lot is available at the shopping centre.
