After watching big wave surfing today we made it a point to try this Mike's. Nothing like on DDD! Must make the chicken early, and then reheat. Dry and tasteless. The shrimp, rice and Mac salad were worth eating. Maybe a bad day.

Would have loved to try it. Had heard that it was really good, but stood in line for 10 minutes and there was no acknowledgement. Other guests there before me said that they couldn’t get anyone’s attention so also left. Maybe we’ll try again next time we come to Hawaii.
Best food that day.

Sooo good- chicken and Kayla pork were amazing
Not the Mike's Hulihuli chicken that we remembered. The food we had was cold. The chicken is dry and has no taste. Last time we ate here the food was setved hot and juicy. Did not notice any smoke that indicate that the chicken is being cooked. The Garlic Ahi that we ordered was off, we only took a small bite then threw the rest. Even the mixed vegies that came with it is not fresh. We did not finish even the famous Hulihuli chicken. Even the atmosphere feels like it is in a bad state. Not coming back!

The meat was super tender and juicy, cooked to perfection. Super happy with our choice. Service was super friendly.

We stumbled upon this place by chance, drawn in by the many photos of celebrities on display. However, appearances can be deceiving: the chicken was tough, lacked flavor, and was undercooked on the inside. The service was also disappointing – the lady at the counter seemed overwhelmed, despite there being hardly any guests. It’s clear that this place is in need of some serious improvements.

I was hyped to try this place and sadly disappointed with dry chicken…red flag should have been when nothing was grilling or cooking on the pit. Just the smell of wood burning but nada, such a tourist trap for anyone looking for bbq stick to L & L or just Texas bbq….they say it was a ten minute? Probably to reheat the dry chicken and the Mac salad had no salt? All I can say try it for self and wait to be disappointed ☹️ fair warning
I arrived around 5 o'clock and ordered a Huli Huli chicken. I'm not going to lie. Do they serve chicken from Costco? It tasted as good as you want. There was no charcoal smell and the chicken was cold and it wasn't good. The place where the Huli Huli chicken was cooked was not clearly visible.

We have visited this place every time we came here for years. Drove over from Waikiki and what a disappointment! No chicken even cooking outside like the old days. The guy wasn’t even friendly and I decided to read the reviews before going up to order and it was a big NO for us. This place use to be the best chicken on the island and something changed. Take your chances but if you don’t see chicken cooking outside on BBQ chances are it was cooked earlier or the day before. The old reviews are what it use to be and the newer reviews are what it is now. Sad but too many good places to eat to waste your money on a has been great in the past place!

Arrived at 12 pm on a Tuesday, after a 1.5 hour drive from Waikiki. They never opened. Won't come back.

The place is cool and has photos of famous stars who have performed at the restaurant like “Tongi” or famous actors/actresses that have visited.
We had the Kahlua pork/chicken combo which came with 2 scoops of white rice and salad. The chicken was succulent, juicy, and fall off the bone good. The pork was tender and the sauce they served it with was a perfect topper.
The rice was the perfect texture and the salad had a nice little white dressing on it.

This has unfortunately gone down hill since January when I last visited. Use to be a favorite stop. The service and food was not good anymore. The guy serving us was rude and acted put out at any questions. The servings were smaller and the chicken barely had any meat on it. The shrimp was dry and chewy. They use to have water cups and now charge .25 per cup and full price for a soda refill. The garbage cans were overflowing. Felt dirty. I won’t be coming back. So sad … I use to love this place!
