After watching big wave surfing today we made it a point to try this Mike's. Nothing like on DDD! Must make the chicken early, and then reheat. Dry and tasteless. The shrimp, rice and Mac salad were worth eating. Maybe a bad day.
The place is cool and has photos of famous stars who have performed at the restaurant like “Tongi” or famous actors/actresses that have visited.
We had the Kahlua pork/chicken combo which came with 2 scoops of white rice and salad. The chicken was succulent, juicy, and fall off the bone good. The pork was tender and the sauce they served it with was a perfect topper.
The rice was the perfect texture and the salad had a nice little white dressing on it.

Just to be clear, the atmosphere is only because of the flies that don't really bother just like to hang around.However, the food is like nothing you will experience in Oahu. It's been a must stop for my wife for over 25 years. The pork and garlic shrimp smelled great just can't get past the huli huli chicken. My wife and I split a plate and it was more than enough.
