Is there such thing as a calming food court? You certainly need to take a moment in the Pa'ina Ko'olau Food Court as many malls have food court this one was designed with the inspiration of the 'aina or the land in Kaneohe. From a distance it's absolutely stunning as my favorite obviously is the waterfall streaming down in the vibrant shades of blue with waves or I guess skies hanging right above is so zen like which I think represents the waterfall off the Ko'olau mountains. With placements of plants, flowers and motifs representing each items found on the windward side is just spectacular. The crafty side of me was going into overdrive if you look closely at some of the storefront counter are elements of the plants like Ulu, Kukui, and Hala. The circular tile mosaics of a honu turtle and tako is just so stunning! While you're here grab something from Bullkogi, Blazing Steaks, Chinatown Express, Cookie Corner, Subway, Hot dog on a Stick, Papa Johns, Lemongrass Kitchen, Orange Julius/Dairy Queen...and yes it has WIFI!!Yes it's a food court but this vibrant gathering place is just a fantastic indoorsy place to enjoy your bites with the feel of what the Windward side is all about.Thank you!

This is the most relaxed and inviting food court. Especially enjoy the Hawaiian- themed decor (the table tops in particular) and family-friendly mix of food vendors. There's ample seating, with additional seating areas in the mall. Dining tables are kept clean and restrooms are well-maintained - Kudos to the staff!

This is an updated, Hawaiian themed, cozy Food Court (with ATMs and restroom nearby), located on the Ground Floor of Windward Mall in Kaneohe! Current vendors are: BullKogi - "Korean Fusion" - I like the special $7.50 plates. They're a great value and come with 4 choices of banchan! Papa John's Pizza - a great option for a potluck! Hot Dog on a Stick - the only one on Oahu! Blazin' Steaks - I like the Steak Salad, especially before a blood donation... Chinatown Express - 50 percent off half an hour before closing... good deal! Rice noodles, eggplant, beef broccoli, and sweet sour chicken are some of my favorites. Maruki-Tei - get the sushi and musubi! Ramen Manichi - not crowded like the Ala Moana location Subway - get the special sandwich of the day! I Love Country Cafe - creative dishes such as Lechon & Waffles! Cookie Corner - my favorites are the crunchy cookie bites and chocolate dipped shortbread cookies! Dairy Queen/Orange Julius - shakes, smoothies, and soft serve! Starbucks - free coffee refills with the Gold Card! With so many food options, there's no need for me to drive over the Pali! I can park for free, enjoy the air conditioning and flat screen televisions, stay close to home and enjoy some good grinds!

You've got to try the fried zucchini from hotdog on a stick. Top it off with a fresh lemonaid.

Kumu's Korner

DQ - Orange Julius back at Windward Mall!!

Review is specifically for Papa J's at the W.M. Food court. The selection few and the wait is long, so if you are craving for pizza and you don't have the time try somewhere else. Maybe Pizza Hut? But what little that they do have does taste pretty good. One in particular is their chicken penne in Alfredo sauce. I also like their salad with honey mustard dressing.

Watch sports here all the time-- local, NBA, MLB, NFL, golf. Over some ono grindz.

This food court is a great spot to grab lunch and watch the UH football games. It's fun to hear everyone cheering, booing, and criticizing plays, especially the old guys. There's plenty of tables and lots of flat screen TVs that's easily visible. This food court isn't like Ala Moana or Pearlridge where people fight for tables. It's a like a watering hole where all animals of all breeds come to congregate and eat at our leisure. I like the kick back atmosphere there. Just wish they had more food places there.

I like the renovations they did to the food court. The bummer is that the eateries that the food court used to have aren't here. The set up is really nice. There is a nice variety of eateries: Korean, Pizza, plate lunch, Chinese, Japanese, Hawaiian, Sandwiches, etc.
