I would give them a better rating if they wouldn't fry their seafood too much.

I love their selection of food and how you can order a la carte to create the meal you want. I also was very pleasantly surprised by their sushi platters. The freshness and quality is so much better than some other places that still charge the same for more simple/basic rolls. I brought a sushi platter to a dinner and so many people asked me where I got it from, and it was gone so quickly. I will definitely be ordering more take out from here. I personally don’t really like eating inside, it’s a bit too crowded for me.

I read bad reviews, but still decided to check for myself. The service is class, everyone is friendly and interested. As for poke, it's the first time I eat it, so I have nothing to compare it to, it's delicious

It's rare to find Japanese food on the west side and this place is probably the best until you get to pearl city and honolulu.

Good selection of food, friendly service. One less star, table we ate at was very wobbly.

Delivery Online orders are just like walk in first come first serve basis. if it came in before the walk in it’s priority over the walk in that has still yet to order. Delivery drivers don’t have to stand in line like a customer placing an order. Change your delivery driver process been here before never had to wait in line like a customer waiting to place their order. Drivers have the right as independent contractors to not deliver your orders or decline from specific locations.

Aloha Everyone! I have a review for Okome in Kapolei for you today ? Honestly, I should have done one a long time ago but I guess I was too busy or sick at the time ? anyway, my mom was nice enough to grab lunch for me from there the other day so now I can finally do that long overdue review for you! I really love the food here a lot. One of my favorites is the Beef Sukiyaki Bowl which I normally get along with vegetable tempura of some sort. She picked up the potato one for me along with a corn croquette. The Sukiyaki Bowl was right on point as usual, with a nice sweet and savory flavor- very yummy! I was really in the mood for Japanese food so it was perfect - completely satisfied my cravings The potato tempura and corn croquette had a nice light crisp and were delicious as well. Highly recommend this great spot ??

I used to like this place but it's become terrible.First, soon as you enter the restaurant the first worker making food has a faded shirt, hair messy, sweating, Grungy looking. Then they have paper handwritten signs on the counter that look ghetto.A trash can next to the tables. They changed their plates to paper plates that show the food is actually small portioned. The price is not worth the amount of food.Their floors and tables are filthy on the bottom.Very poor presentation, value and quality.Won't come back.

This places reminded me of a cross between Marugame and Chipotle when it came to setup. Service was very friendly and my bento was tasty. The tempura was a bit oily and the water cut was small, otherwise all good

Despite the name of the place (okome=rice), their rice was terrible. Dry. I don't know if they were cheap rice or cooked wrong but they should change the name. Food tasted fine. Had a rib bowl and the price looked decent in Hawaii nowadays but it turned out to be small serving. Probably good for small eaters.

Delicious & different! The restaurant itself was both a little confusing but also self explanatory, very similar to Panda Express' buffet or build-your-own style process, where you order your food at the beginning, take your tray along the counter and grab any additional items you wish, then tally and pay at the end. It was only confusing when we first walked in because no one else was in line it at the counter to indicate the process, but we figured it out quickly. The food was fantastic! I ordered a combo plate with chicken katsu & the tempura mix (of any of the various meats and veggies made tempura style), and grabbed some additional gyoza and tempura along the counter. I very much like their tempura, everything was coated and cooked well! I tried a piece of my friend's spicy crab roll, made fresh, and it was also very tasty! All in all, very good food and a decent experience, will definitely be giving another go and see what temps me next! I definitely think anyone with just about any diet can eat here, to include picky eaters like my husband!

Stopped by for a quick bite and was welcomed in as we entered. The quality of their fish is pretty good. Their rice was the perfect tempura, taste and texture........ good quality also. The only thing is that their bowls are kinda small. I'd say perfect size for town, however, small for west side people. They were playing some good music during my lunch date. The only downfall was that their tables were left dirty. It was a pretty slow day for their restaurant..... I had to ask for a napkin to wipe our table down before enjoying our meal. This eatery is takeout counter style. You walk up, order and out at the counter.... No table service. They have many bento, tempura, sushi roll or nigiri options. I'd definitely eat here again.... No complaints about their food.

Food is great, service had a tough time making recommendations on their menu and the flow of order and checkout is confusing. The seating is worn and the floor stained, but the music is subtle and eating here is pleasant

Second time eating at Okome. We ordered the "new" Beef Sukiyaki with Kim Chee Udon, Pork Belly with Kim Chee Bento and a side order of Takoyaki. All dishes were tasty and a little on the salty side. I loved the Takoyaki as it was fresh made, crisp on the outside and chewy squid on the inside. The sauce on the takoyaki was not overpowering. The udon soup base was too salty to consume, but the udon noodles were cooked just right. The beef sukiyaki was savory and tender. The pork belly bento was full of flavor, sliced and well seasoned pork slices and a good amount of kim chee and other vegetables. The miso soup and salad comes with the bento. You will pay a little more for the bento. Service was minimal as it is mostly for take out. There are a few tables indoors, however the tables are not serviced or cleaned while we were there. Drinks are self serve as well.

Good experience. Staff were welcoming. Food was delicious. If the sushi you want is not out then they will make it for you.
