Sakura Tappenyaki Sushi

LOVED our experience! Hibachi was delicious, reasonably priced for hawaii, and the chefs were great! Also didn't have to wait forever for the table to completely fill up like they do at some places. They will play music for special events and make the table feel like a party. Will be my go-to hibachi spot!

Mixed feelings about Sakura restaurant. We ordered sushi and sashimi, and the food was good—the presentation, in particular, was stunning and unlike anything we’ve seen before. However, despite the impressive dishes, the experience was ruined by the sight of cockroaches casually walking around. My husband even had to kill one with the menu, and the waiter didn’t seem the least bit surprised—no apology, just another menu handed over without any acknowledgment of the situation.

The service left much to be desired as well. We found ourselves constantly flagging down the waiter for basic things like chopsticks (for sushi!) and soy sauce. Unfortunately, the cleanliness and service issues overshadowed what could have been a great dining experience

The server was great and worked really hard. Unfortunately all of the cooked foods (teppanyaki) were way overcooked! The steak, shrimp, chicken were not good and not cheap. The sushi seemed like the way to go.

Had lunch with a friend there last week. Nice restaurant to have a large family gathering or a couple to enjoy the sushi rolls, soups and salads. The food and presentation is beyond my expectations. Definitely worth the visit and will come back more often.

The hostess was very accommodating and patient while we waited for our entire party to arrive. The cook was not as entertaining and interactive with us as those we've had in the past. We requested our ribeye to be medium rare. What we got was closer to a very medium, so more hard and dry. Comparing this ribeye to a recent lunch we had a week or two ago that was cooked to perfection and a melt in your mouth quality. The meat that we received tonight seemed to be of a lesser quality and overcooked. The lobster tails were very fishy tasting, small and didn't look appetizing. The noodles should be eliminated from the set items. 2 of 5 in our party had a sore stomach after arriving at home. The waitress was attentive making sure our needs were met with refills, etc. It will be a long while before our next visit. Tonight was disappointing.

Located at an outdoor mall, parking gets crowded but you’ll always find something.Food was great with great portions. Show was good too. Spendy of course but that’s to be expected. They take reservations over a certain number of people.

We've been a couple times now and it's been consistently awesome. This last time, our hibachi chef cut the steak and vegetables smaller for my toddlers, and did some extra "magic" for them which they loved. The veggies are some of the best I've ever had, same for the calamari.

Kid-friendliness: I think the chefs enjoy watching the kids' faces light up in wonder. Also they were great about clean up. I always clean up after my kids (I have toddlers and don't ever expect others to clean up after my kids) , but our waitress said not to worry and took away all the napkins when I tried a second time to try and tidy under the high chair. Never thought being told, don't clean I've got it would make me tear up.

The overall experience was very pleasant, although it does run a bit pricey for a single meal, the service and food are exceptional. They use good quality fish for all their sushi, the service was a bit slower for my liking however it was made up for how kind the staff are. The place looks clean at a glance and each area is nicely sectioned.
