Really good Hawaiian food!

I ordered the butterfish Lau Lau plate with a side of tripe stew. The butterfish in the Lau Lau was so ono but there was so little of it, it was mostly greens. Luckily the greens were good. But I want meat! The pipikaula was delicious and tender. The tripe stew was also very tasty! I'd give this place a 4.5* for the food if I could.

The guy at the counter was nice, and the restaurant itself was a little dark, but cozy.

Ono Hawaiian food! It's a shame they're closing. At least they have another location in Kalihi for my Lau Lau fix.

A great Hawaiian food place with some Chinese style extras.

The food is great. Young's is famous for their large Laulau with many varieties. The plate options include pipikaula with choice of rice or poi and lomi salmon or Mac salad. Highly suggest the plate as it offers lots of things to taste. I also recommend the beef or tripe stew as a plate or side order. Also a side order pupus I would suggest trying the turkey tails.

Beautiful interior with local art with large wood tables.

Highly suggest if you want Hawaiian food.

Parking: Shared parking lot. The mall has a large amount of parking. There is usually close parking during off hours. Peak hours there is moderate parking, but you should be able to find parking in under 1-2 minute walk.

Nice small and good atmosphere. Service was OK but nothing to jump up an down about. Food.... this is where things was disappointing. The laulau was 25% meat and 75% leaf. I heard this about this complaint before but wanted to check for myself. Yup, it was facts. Scam Laulau.
The pupikaula was different. Different bad, not different good. Too much fat and not enough meat.
One and done for me.

Good Hawaiian food, little pricey but that's the usual now. The laulau is my favorite when they undercooked the luau leaves a little seems more fresh that way. The pork is very tasty in the laulau. The kalua pig is always good along with the lomi salmon. The pipikaula is very meaty with some fat but that is the flavor. The poi is good which I rather have then the rice. There's enough for two meals so the price is cut in half which is a great deal.

Quick stop for lunch on business. A freestanding restaurant in a power shopping center. Served typical Hawaiian food. Not the best I have enjoyed on Oahu but not awful. Counter service. Ehh ok.

Parking: Plenty of free parking.

Love coming here for butterfish laulau, it’s so ono! Lots of luau leaves and so moist. There squid luau is a winna. The squid is always so soft and tender.

I arrived at 5 pm, expecting a limited menu close to their 6 pm closing time. However, I was met with a rude response, as the middle-age male greeted me with “I’m out of food, what do you what”. The overall experience was marred by poor planning, unfriendly service, and poor food quality.
