I was disappointed with my return visit to this establishment after many years. My previous visit was a highlight of my time on Molokai, but to see the current state was saddening. All of the food was served on disposable products, including styrofoam. This is not a responsible practice. The service was slow (and I like to take it slow on Molokai), and the bathroom was out of hand soap, which was not reassuring. Kanemitsu's is an institution, but it doesn't seem like...
Coming back to Molokai at as an adult with young kids, I had to stop by Kanemitsu Bakery to relive some childhood favorites. This little hole-in-the-wall in Kaunakakai still serves up the kind of food that makes you feel at home.
