L&L Hawaiian Barbecue

As others have said, there isn't much seating and the service wasn't all that great. The Kalua Pork plate with the Mac Salad was outstanding. Shared it with the kids and it was a hit with them also.

DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS!!!Went to L&L in Keaau to grab a few plates for dinner (4/31/24)I will say any time I have ever been there the lady at the counter is horribly rude to everyone. I have come to expect it and do not really go there as a result (exception tonight for a variety of reasons) well when I went in to order I saw an Auntie standing there trying to talk to them about the loco moco she ordered. When she opened it to question them about it (ANYONE WOULD HAVE) the meat was DRY AND HARD, eggs were not coooked the way she ordered etc. she was both calm and polite and asked that they take it back so that she could have it replaced.The lady completely ignored her and yelled to the cook. The cook promptly came out of the kitchen. He too was incredibly rude. Told Auntie “that’s the way I cook it” Auntie politely responded that she had ordered this many times before and that this was not what she had received in those past orders.The cook then became aggressive with her and told her that that’s how he cooks it and if she didn’t like it to never order it again. He further told her that he would replace it, but with only a mini plate. (Her other plate was full sized and she paid for a full size plate)Poor Auntie was so exhausted from working a full day, but kept her cool and just took what he gave. She appeared to be near to tears……This just pisses me off…an Auntie being treated like that. He was so shameful and nasty, as was the woman behind the counter. Needless to say, this hurt my heart and had I not already ordered paid for my own plates, I would have taken my business elsewhere. I personally will NEVER order from that place EVER again.Treating working kapuna this way? I hope you consider this should you think to order something in the future. Pilau behavior

Ordered my food at 7 over the phone and the cashier made it a point to tell me they closed at 8 which is fine we were right down the road not even 5 mins away. When we got there she didn't even put our order in. We got our food at 7:40 took a seat on the outside tables and she yelled at us saying we couldn't eat there because they were closed mind you it's not even 8 yet. The workers are very rude and the food is trash! Never coming here again!

The sis who took my order was great. The food was hot, delicious and fast. The honey garlic chicken was great, and the Mac salad was some of the best I've had in a while. If you haven't been, just be aware that at this location, there are only 2 tables.

The food was great, (most of it anyways) but the service was terrible. The lady behind the counter had a bad attitude and was very rude. Hopefully other locations don't have such bad service.

I should have read the reviews. The lady taking the orders was super rude and food was extremely salty.If you are visiting Hawaii do not stop here!!

Girl that serves food very rude. Her English is very poor. Chinese and talks to fast & not clear to understand just like she's talking Chinese. When you say What? She gets mad.I always get a receipt to see how much they charging. Plus I use to leave a good tip at the end. I told her you didn't give me my receipt. She said "Why you ask now I throw away. I told her I requested a receipt on the machine so you need to find it. She was pushing my buttons after I gave her $5 tip for her sarcasm. Not any more, in fact I haven't been there because of that happening.I had ordered my food about 7pm got some sides to take home plus plate to eat there.They are so stingy with hot mustard limit two little round containers. I want to eat my dinner there cause when Chinese food gets cold it's to greasy like eating Crisco out of can. I'm not a fast eater I chew my food good. About 7:45pm the girl came out told me you have to leave now I was still eating. She said they closing they need the tables & chairs in. Well they close at 8pm and they still have to clean up inside. Plus other people were getting food. After spending over $30 she tells me I have to get out. I would rather take a ride to the town of Pahoa L&L they have better selections of food I asked the girl if they had limitation on hot mustard too? She said oh no it's complimentary as many as you want. She was so nice and helpful was suppose to close at certain time but the girl said no rush they have stuff to do so I can stay until I'm done. Then she would unlock door she asked if I wanted more drink it was a help yourself fountain machine. Asked if I wanted any more hot mustard. I told her what a big difference from Keau L& L. She said if I acted that way I would deserve to get fired. I kinda chuckled told her yes normally a person that is rude to people shouldn't even have a job dealing with them, but you can't fire family and they will never grasp the concept of taking a Public Relations course either. Especially if they can't talk English well at all. This is my opinion and other people that I observe and are not comfortable with her. It gives them something to talk about when waiting in line.Food is not bad but attitude has to go they don't mix well. Especially before you eat. My experience which I was a regular there a long time then she came in and changed the whole atmosphere. To many other places to go, rather then accepting rudeness. Also if you do go there watch her with the Charsu Pork slices they tend to burn a lot then they bring out pan fresh cooked right. She puts all the burnt ones to the side I told her I don't like the burnt meat it's like a rock to chew what she do? Give me burnt meat I told her No! I can't chew that if I can't eat it why should I pay for it. Told her put the newer meat more tender to chew on. They tend to forget your consumer & customer.
