“The ladies are SO friendly and the food is so fresh!! I thought the pad Thai was amazing and then I tried the pumpkin curry!!! By far the best Thai food I've ever had and that goes for everything I ordered. Both dishes I can eat as two meals and the avocado rolls are the perfect appetizer. Could not recommend more and wish I could eat this for every meal!!”
“The food was great. The music was a bit loud for my taste and a hindrance when trying to talk across the table. Also, we tried to sit outside away from the music and were told we must be a party of 4 or more, which we weren't.Parking: Restaurant located in a shopping center so there was plenty of free parking.”
“Best taco outside of Boyle Heights in east LA! Autentico! They put their heart into their cooking and it shines through. Have eaten here many times and have sampled the entire menu. Where do I begin? Tuesday's birria offering is truly one of the best things I've ever eaten. Crunchy, cheesy, meaty and loaded with flavor. This is birria like your abuela used to make. Friday things get interesting. Offerings range from fried battered fish and shrimp, to carnitas (for $3!), tender and flavorful carne asada, exotics like chicken mole, lingua, barbacoa, chicken or ricotta taquitos. There are others but these stand out. My personal favorite is the shrimp, generous portion where there is a big piece of shrimp in every bite. I say that you can go to Taco Aina and get one taco and be full, but you'll buy a second (third or fouth) because they are so delicious. Cute set up off the highway, gives you the feel of Mexico with its bright colors and interesting knick knacks. Order taking staff is friendly and helpful, cook is busy! This is not fast food, it is good flavorful food prepared as fast as possible. If it's busy be prepared to wait - it will be worth it!”
“Everything we ordered was yummy but this Lilikoi Cheesecake was out of this world! Lovely service, live music and the friendliest local vibe too...from J&J at ”
“Love this place! Every time we go it's really fun. The bartender Cheryl is a hoot, and everyone we've met there is great. Truly one of the best local hole in the wall bars I've ever been to.”
“Such a great value in these times. Good pizza and wings. So clean and nicest staff. Convenient too now in Keaau. Can just pull in on the way home! They also have drive thru.”
“Great food and great service! Good for a combo plate or a dish on the menu, I have yet to be disappointed!Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options on the menu and occasionally will have a few pre-made.”
“I really enjoy this Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf locations. Early in the day I use the drive through for a large coffee. Later in the day I enjoy a large black green tea. Atmosphere is laid back, relaxing and peaceful. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. There are numerous outlets available so charging mobile devices is never a problem. One of the must visit places in Kea’au.”
“Awesome Subway. We order on the App. and drive from Hilo to come to this particular one. Sandwiches are made really well, and staff are always super cool and nice!”
“If you have to travel around the island this is the best McDonalds (compared to Pahoa and Hilo). Its been remodeled and the food is always on point. Service is fast and friendly. The only one I will go to!”
“On July 1, 2023, three of us embarked on a mission to visit all 12 L&L locations on the Big Island. This was our 10th stop. While waiting to place our order, the lady working here "yelled" at my friend for mistaking a table for a bench. There were no chairs at the table and even if there were, there would be no place to sit and fit in the tiny space allotted for ordering. We ordered our obligatory musubi and to be honest, at this point in the day, I couldn't tell you how it tasted. We were desperate to finish the challenge and eating musubi for the 10th time in one day was just a blur.I did like the outdoor seating, it was nice to be able to sit in the fresh air and while being a part of a strip mall, the noise and foot traffic was minimal.Would I go back here again? I won't say no. But I wouldn't go out of my way to get here either.”
“Absolutely delicious food! I've even brought non vegans here and they love it as well. So grateful to Chris for being such a talented Vietnamese chef (with a vegan twist). I like dining in. They have reasonable prices, generous portions, and great food. I honestly come here often.”
“I had the macadamia crusted special fish of the day. It was good. My husband had the prime rib and it was disgusting. He said it tasted like it had been sitting in the trash can in the alley. It looked gross too. The brussel sprouts & ahi tower were the favorite food selection we had.”
“I’ve been on the Big Island for a week and a half, trying to find great food and this place has that and more!! Highly recommended, I had the Crispy Beef Tacos and thought they were amazing! Not to mention the best service and friendly people. It is a MUST try spot! I can’t wait to be back on island and return.”
“I went to this store early yesterday morning, but I didn’t meet the Taiwanese owner. I was a little disappointed Today I ordered morning glory and Mocha. Mocha is very special. It has a spicy taste. However, the clerk did not tell me that I need to stir it to drink it . Halfway through the drink, I heard the clerk telling another group of customers to stir it, and I suddenly realized it You can smell the different coffee beans and choose the one you like. The clerk did not introduce coffee knowledge as mentioned on the Internet. However, he told you that there are donuts nearby and you can buy them and eat them. So, we I went to buy donuts, but I didn’t see the pour coffee performance, which was a pity The store decoration is very warm.”
“I heard about this bakery before I flew over to Hilo, I was staying in the Pahoa area at the time and I was really glad I found the bakery, They have a selection like nobody else, They have low sugar or no sugar treats, They have excellent gluten-free bakery goods which is insanely hard to find, I live in a big city and we don't even have that where I live, Really great selection I never got to ask them the question if they infuse banana into most of the treats, that I would really like to know!Parking: You need to park off of the main road, Do not park on the main road,”
“Incredible meal at Moon & Turtle. We started with two small plates- smoked sashimi and ahi belly. Then shared the half size of mushroom risotto with the market fish (marlin in an amazing miso coconut brown butter sauce). We couldn't pick just one dessert so we shared the miso cheesecake and macadamia pot de creme. Lychee gin cocktail was also delicious. I will say the risotto and sashimi as staples are both worth the hype and the marlin with the complex sauce was my personal favorite but we loved every single dish. Everything was so fresh with unique flavor combinations. There are so many other items on the menu we want to come back and try. The service is also impeccable. Carson was perfectly attentive and so helpful. She even gave us some recommendations for things to see in the area. Highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait for a second meal here!”
“I got the classic style. A hearty portion for $13.95. The well-cooked rice and slightly vinegared rice are perfect for the soy sauce-based poke. The flavor wasn't too strong, and the 1 scoop of ube salad (?) that came with it was a nice complement. The store clerk's sister was friendly and nice.Tried classical style poke. I love the taste of Sumeshi (vinegared rice? not sure ). Of course the flavor of soy source of poke♥️. One of the best poke shops??”
“Amazing chocolate and service. I highly recommend the dark chocolate lava bar. Wonderfully spicy hot chocolate. The proprietors are especially engaging and helpful. I highly recommend a visit.”
“If you are in this are, def check this place out. The mochis were sooooo good! Also so many different flavours to choose from! Wish we could’ve gone back a few more times!”
“LOVED IT!!!! who would of thought the best Mexican food I have ever had, would be in a remote village on the Big Island?I don't say this lightly.I have lived in Texas, Nevada and California. There Is something truly special about this taco truck! It must be a combination of great ingredients,Put together by great people,on a mission to make the most tasty and savory food.If You are in Pahao, and craving wonderful mexican food, PANCHOS TACOS is beyond a doubt the place you want to visit. On some days their are tables st up to sale honey, cookies and other options.Parking: in a park.Kid-friendliness: its in an area with grass for childeren to play on.”
“When traveling in the United States, apart from the magnificent scenery, the most surprising thing must be the food. What I'm talking about here is not surprisingly bad, but surprisingly good. In Hilo, there is a Vietnamese pho shop called Pho 99. Although its storefront is simple, it is not far from the seaside and is easy to find. As I walked past the door, I couldn’t help but think of Anthony Burton sitting on the streets of Vietnam with a noodle bowl in hand. The shop owner is a middle-aged man who behaves like a master from a Stephen Chow Kung Fu movie. We ordered a beef pho in clear soup and a bowl of Beef Stew. No fancy decorations, no excessive showmanship, everything is just right. Asian stomachs are full of emotions about the taste of food. Just by smelling and tasting it, you can feel whether it has the same flavor as the food. In contrast, those gorgeous meals, no matter how attractive they appear and how harmless they appear, can only be a fantasy, a symbol and catharsis suppressed in people's unconscious daydreams. Thanks Pho 99??? May the Force Be With You ??”

“Amazing taste.. Very low key place, but taste is amazing.. Buckwheat Cold Soba Noodles.. yummmVegetarian options: They have a few vegetarian sushies, and cold noodles (if you replace their dip with their peanut sauce)..”
“Da Beans Green Cafe was the best place that my wife and I had breakfast on the big island. We stayed in Mountain View and had our eyes set on this place from the beginning of our trip. Phoenix was amazing from the time we walked in the door. We felt right at home and chit chatted with Phoenix, he told us all about how the coffee was made as well as how his wife and him discovered the green coffee. I had the salmon lox bagel and it was THE BEST salmon lox bagel I have ever had. My wife could hardly wait to dig into the luxurious French toast, it was amazing as well! Don’t miss out on this wonderful breakfast and experience while on the big island!!!”
“Hands down the best breakfast in Puna maybe the whole island ? farm to table . Fabulous presentation of food , great staff and ownership . Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to Pele's Kitchen on main street Pahoa ????? A 5 palm tree favorite ?”
“Fast service. Food was hot and flavorful. Love the value, plates are stacked full and great prices on everything. Only 2 people allowed in at a time. Order and then wait ”
“Made reservations for party of 11 for dinner. Was seated right away. Service by Ikaika was excellent, even though they were very busy. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. The kalua hash patty & eggs was ono. Will go there again when in Hilo.”
“Awesome Island Raised Grass Fed Beef Burgers made to order.. one of the last places you can request Medium Rare and you’ll get exactly that. Prepared just right, juicy and hot! The garlic fries are my personal suggestion for a burger companion. These burgers are 4 steps above basic. Don’t pay DOUBLE for a burger at Burger Joint, when you can get a much better burger made with Aloha at David’s Ma’ona Lunch Counter (or Truck)!Parking: Whether it’s at the Lunch Counter in Shipman, or on-site at the Food Wagon, there’s always plenty parking.Kid-friendliness: The kids love these meals!”
