“It was such a wonderful experience and definitely our best breakfast on the island. Fresh bread, delicious sandwiches, and great coffee. We paid $38 including tips for two lattes ($7.50 each) and two sandwiches. The price is very reasonable, and the food is absolutely delicious. Highly recommend visiting! 🌴✨”

“This place really saved us. We had just been to Kilauea and hadn’t eaten real food all day. Peppercorn is right off the route traveling from Volcano to north Kona, so no time off route! The food was hot and delicious. It came out super fast. Service was very attentive and kind. It was an excellent choice after a long day of hiking in the rain!”

“Our 2026 new choice restaurant, for Vietnamese/Thai/Chinese food! We went on 2/28/26 and I ordered Lemon Chicken and he ordered Tom Yum soup. Both were very delicious! The service was fast, and the young lady and young man are very polite and friendly. Such a convenient location, because we went shopping at Foodland Keaau, right after our lunch! I especially love their normal restaurant hours! Will return!”

“I am giving 4 stars because, I had an issue with waiting 15 mins for fresh, then the pizza not being fresh after the wait. That's not the reason for my review. I am reviewing because the manager on duty named Shy was outstanding! She went above & beyond & was happy to make it right. Her customer service was excellent & she even walked the pizzas out to me with extra napkins. Hard to find young workers like her with such a great disposition. Keep up the good work shy!”

“Whenever we visit Hawai'i, it's always the Big Island. Whenever we visit the Big Island, we always stay in Keaau. Whenever we stay in Keaau, we have to go to the Coffee Bean. Awesome drinks, super consistent with highly underrated sandwiches. Breakfast or lunch sandwiches, they are always tasty and well put together. Live this place!”

“We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and the dining experience was outstanding! The food was flavorful, delicious and looked like a piece of art. The live music added to the fine dining experience. To top off the evening the desserts were rich and yummy-but the "Wow" factor was the coffee we ordered served in a french press coffee maker! We will be back and bring our friends and family!”

“Lots of seating indoors. Bahn MI was perfection! We tried the regular and the shrimp. Both were superb. The combo Pho was everything I'd want. Tender meat, flavorful borth, fresh veg. Dumplings were okay fried. I think they would be better the way they're usually served - steamed or boiled. Banana lumpias were delicious. Portion sizes are great for the price.”

“This place is so good and the people who work here are really friendly. I love that they have games to play while waiting for your ice cream too. Not ashamed to say that I've been here multiple days in a row. Best ice cream spot in Hilo in my opinion.”

“Hilo iced coffee was one of our favorites places to grab coffee when in Hilo. We drove all the way from pepeekeo every day so we could have all those amazing options. My hubby and I each got a coffee and a matcha to share. We made sure we tried something different every time, usually staff recommended, just to see what were a “go” or a “no.” Honestly, every thing we ordered exceeded our expectations. “Honey girl” was a clear winner for us, the mix of Mac nut milk and honey, chef’s kiss- 10/10. And if you’re not feeling something too sweet, their namesake “Hilo iced coffee” hit the spot- 9/10. We also tried their black sesame coffee and matcha, both were 10/10. We had the chance to also try the strawberry matcha and while I can see the hype for strawberry matches are real, the strawberry Puree was a wee too sweet for us, still very good- 8/10. We will be sure to stop by every time we go Hilo!”
