“Had a lovely take out meal from the Tuk Tuk Thai food truck. Super nice people and fresh food. If you get the fresh spring rolls, add the avocado, almost a meal in itself! Pad Thai and basil stir fry were both tasty and large portions. They were careful to ask about vegetarian needs which is a nice touch. Quick and easy and tasty!”
“Beautiful little gem of a cafe with delicious food. The garden salad and soups were especially delicious with amazing vegetables fresh from the garden. The seating is cute inside and there are beautiful little garden seating areas outside. Service was very nice, and lots of nice art to look at - humble and very understated ”
“Had the red curry with tofu and it was just amazing! It was raining and they even brought the food to the car. Couple of picnic benches to eat outside of you prefer that. Very friendly people making and serving. The food was freshly made and the serving size was quite large. Definitely recommend.”
“A fun stop for the novelty of going to one of the only wineries in Hawaii, and the southernmost one in the US. Nice atmosphere! Friendly staff. Unfortunately we weren’t very impressed with the wine itself. Not a bad way to unwind after a hike in HI Volcanoes NP.”
“If you are on your way to Volcano National Park and want a bite to eat before heading in or something to take with you while there then you'll definitely want to stop here. We got the tuna and turkey sandwiches. Not only did they taste good but they were stuffed to the brim! My husband and I shared one & the kids shared the other. That was plenty, plus some chips, for all of us. We wished we were closer to be able to come back and try more.”
“Some of the best Thai food outside of Thailand. Amazing papaya salad! Food was delicious, server very attentive and lovely homey vibe inside the restaurant. Will definitely make this place a “must stop” on future trips to the Big Island!”
“it was a very interesting place to visit, especially as someone who is not associated with the military. the food was okay, but it was fairly cheap so no complaints. if you explore the place then youll find an arcade, and a room with a fireplace in it. around the other side of the camp is a little grocery mart which is also pretty cool. everyone there was friendly and the whole place was pretty neat.”
“We really enjoyed our lunch at Ohelo. They weren't busy during a weekday lunch time so getting seated was immediate. The Guava Jam burger was fantastic. The pizza was good. The staff was friendly and provided great service.”
“Considering the location, pretty reasonable prices on the food. Specials depending on the day. We were staying on KMC on a Friday and Saturday so we had the fish and chips on Friday. On Saturday I had the teriyaki chicken and rice. Food was good! There is no waitress. You place your order at the cashier when you go in and you get a number on your receipt. When your food is ready, they call your number and you go pick it up from the chef. It was pretty busy on Friday night and the Cafe seemed a bit under staffed keeping up with the flow of people. But everyone was pleasant and all worked hard. Price includes salad and a drink. Overall I thought it was pretty good.”
“Do yourself a favor and eat at this cafe!! If you are going to the Hawaii Volcano National Park drive the extra couple of miles , it’s so worth it!! I ordered the Hawaiin Teriyaki Burger w/ fries and it was delicious! The waitress so nice and e Ruth g was super fast.”
“I’ve been on the Big Island for a week and a half, trying to find great food and this place has that and more!! Highly recommended, I had the Crispy Beef Tacos and thought they were amazing! Not to mention the best service and friendly people. It is a MUST try spot! I can’t wait to be back on island and return.”
“I went to this store early yesterday morning, but I didn’t meet the Taiwanese owner. I was a little disappointed Today I ordered morning glory and Mocha. Mocha is very special. It has a spicy taste. However, the clerk did not tell me that I need to stir it to drink it . Halfway through the drink, I heard the clerk telling another group of customers to stir it, and I suddenly realized it You can smell the different coffee beans and choose the one you like. The clerk did not introduce coffee knowledge as mentioned on the Internet. However, he told you that there are donuts nearby and you can buy them and eat them. So, we I went to buy donuts, but I didn’t see the pour coffee performance, which was a pity The store decoration is very warm.”
“We had the musubi, turnover and 4 flavors of the mochi donuts, SO SO GOOD! If you are a fan of baked goods (or donuts) this is a must-stop. We grabbed coffee next door too!”
“A restaurant located at the Visitor Center of Hawaii Burns National Park. You can eat while watching the steam erupting from an active volcano.Pizza and pasta restaurants”
“Best pizza we've come across, it's build your own style or a few specials. Wings and fries are good, too. Even a busy weekend was less than 30 mins until ready.”
“Chris G was our server and he was wonderful! We came here after a LONG day of hiking and only 30 mins before close. Chris was super nice and friendly which we didn’t experience in some of the other local restaurants in the surrounding towns. The pizza was delicious!! Highly recommend eating here after visiting Volcanoes National Park!”
“Best tacos we've had in 10 months and you might make new friends when you pull up. Flavor and portions were great. We have been traveling from the East coast to the west Coast and were so pleased with our beef/barria tacos and carne asada burritos. the rice and beans were delicious too. We were able to make one more trip to Rico's before we left, check their hours but sun Mon 230-5 worked for us. Food can get very expensive, but we felt their prices were fair and fulfilling.”
