We walked in for dinner on a weekday and could see the volcano from our table. It’s a much smaller spot than the fancy restaurant, but the food was delicious (taro burger) and the drinks were good (guava lava) and we could see the volcano so what more can you ask?
Wonderful restaurant! The tomato bisque, BBQ sliders, and short ribs were delicious and reasonably priced. Luana was a wonderful waitress and gave us an incredible table right by the window after a short wait.
We were able to get a window seat, but all the seats in the room can definitely see the volcano 🌋.
The food was delicious and affordable compared to the rim restaurant in the same area.

Uncle George's Lounge | The Volcano House is a must visit if you are in the park and looking for a bite to eat. The staff is very nice and kind. The pizza here was cooked to perfection, with one guest noting the pizza was the best ever, especially with bacon and bell peppers. The fish and chips were great, with hurricane style fries that were bomb. The rice plate is decent. Volcano Burgers were excellent. The food was incredible and far more delicious than other National Parks. Service was great and fast. One guest noted the food was average with a bit of a wait, but the vantage point to see the volcano is priceless. The view from the window looks over the crater and it’s amazing; in the night, you can also see the red glow. Given the location and the view, the price is pretty acceptable. The only drawback is the light is a little too bright to look out.
