“We stoped on the way back from Akaka falls and took some shaved ice which was so good and refreshing and really perfect for the occasion when it’s hot outside. Recommend this place because the owner and stuff were there and were really nice with helping what to get and choosing the best flavors. Loved this place.”
“Best shaved ice so far that I have had on the island . Creamy and smooth.”

“The flavors here are outstanding, and you can tell everything is made from scratch. The taco plate is a bit on the greasy side for me since they are fried with cheese, but it’s so good and you can burn off the calories on your hike to Akaka falls. Support this wonderful local family.”

“I never thought that doing a “jam flight” would be part of a trip from Hilo to Akaka Falls. We dropped Mr. Ed’s after getting a recommendation from either Claude or a Facebook group, and the stop was an event in itself.
Mr. Ed is incredibly friendly. He makes his jams by hand, is happy to give you samples, and has terrific stories to share alongside them. The store was truly (and unexpectedly) a highlight of our trip to the Hilo area.”

“Stopped here in back in March after hiking near the Botanic Gardens just looking for a snack, but decided to grab lunch. We were very pleasantly surprised to find that they had Gluten Free buns available for my gluten-sensitive wife. The sandwiches were excellent! This was way above expectations. So glad we stopped.”
“Beautiful Orchard and quiet peaceful setting 💝 along with delicious cake! Definitely a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ tour”

“Roadside mom-n-pop shop.
Crowded, but we got right thru ordering and seating. Food within 10 minutes. Chit-chat with locals. Meals for all six people in my party were tasty unto dee-lish-uss.”

“Refreshing lemonade 🍋 w/🐝. On moto ride from Keaau to Akaka Falls, just after Donkey Trailhead hike to cove & point. Free water, TY🤙, then lemonade.”
“How much more impressed can I be? Coconut, pineapple, and they even let us try a soursop for free... absolutely peak. My favorite had to be the sugarcane infused with lime. And the tiny pineapples were so cute”
“This is such an amazing gem hidden in the lush tropical Hamakua countryside. The array of local farmed food and crafts is top notch! Lots of hot food to eat while you're there also. This is as local as you can get for Hawaii.”

“Drinks and everything we got were soo delicious!! Husband got the chinese fish which is the snapper as of right now and I got the pan seared duck. Also got the soup of the day which is the potato soup and got a sushi roll. Will definitely be back here if we ever come back to The Big Island!”

“It will be wonderful with some local draft beers. This is the only restaurant opens for travelers until very late. Dictatorship of Astronomy has a limited power here.”

“Lots of unique specialty coffee and matcha options, it was hard to choose! I had an iced Habibi latte which tasted similar to a dirty chai—it was *so* good and not too sweet. My partner had the cold brew with cream and it was really good and strong. Really cute space and friendly, welcoming service.”
