About Pi'ilani Kitchen

Pi'ilani Kitchen is a small eatery on the side of the road as you travel north from Hilo. It is an amazing spot to stop for lunch, with every sandwich, dish, and drink being delicious and well-prepared. The sandwiches are excellent and high quality, comparable to Olive et Gourmando in Montreal. The best food on the big island includes the best balanced Kimchi Reuben panini, birria sandwich, Cubano sandwich, and kimchi sandwich. They have Gluten Free buns available. The friendly staff make the stop perfect. There is a cute market attached to the restaurant with a great little tourist shop selling keepsakes, souvenirs, chocolates, beverages, ice cream, alcohol, a small selection of convenience store items, and locally made or designed stuff from local vendors and artisans. Guests can sit outside on picnic tables or an elevated lanai setting. A container of their homemade pickle slices is the cherry on top. They are part of a farm and trails challenge where you scan a QR code to check in.

Lovely little place at the end of the Onomea Waterfall stretch. Delicious local food.
Randomly stopped here for a quick sandwich and was extremely pleased! Our sandwiches were excellent, as was the side of ulu mac salad. Also recommend the lilikoi iced tea. Service was so friendly, too!
