Mr. Ed is a treasure as are his jams! No better way to take back a taste of Hawaii than one of his jams.
I never thought that doing a “jam flight” would be part of a trip from Hilo to Akaka Falls. We dropped Mr. Ed’s after getting a recommendation from either Claude or a Facebook group, and the stop was an event in itself.
Mr. Ed is incredibly friendly. He makes his jams by hand, is happy to give you samples, and has terrific stories to share alongside them. The store was truly (and unexpectedly) a highlight of our trip to the Hilo area.
Mr. Ed's has a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Mr. Ed himself is usually at work; answering any and all questions about his products. is pastries, shaved, ice, and jams are worth visiting for. He also provides free samples so you know what you’re getting before you make a purchase. Highly recommend.
