Tacos are pretty good, but it's very slow. Last time we waited for nearly an hour (55 minutes) to the point that when I approached to see what was going on they tried to take my order. EDIT: THEY TEACHED OUT AND GAVE ME A REFUND. Obviously they care about their customers. I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and raise the rating until next time.

Let me first start by saying, "Where have I been? Under a rock!" @tacoaina is located right off the Keaʻau-Pāhoa Hwy, not too far past Makuʻu Market if you're going toward Pāhoa Town. To say I was taken by surprise is an understatement. There were three different tacos on the menu today, and we got two of each. The three tacos were asada, lengua, and chicken mole. Lengua (Beef Tongue): The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender and perfectly seasoned--the perfect savory element/protein to assume the "main character" role. The meat was doused in a bright and zesty salsa verde and topped with cilantro and onions. Every ingredient had a role, and every single one of them gave Oscar-winning performances. This was by far my favorite taco out of the three available today. Bravissimo! Chicken Mole: The chicken was moist, succulent, and bathed in a deep, earthy, nutty, velvety, and aromatic mole that genuinely took my breath away. The notes of tomato and garlic from the rice were like a warm hug, and the pickled onions cut through the richness and nuttiness of the mole in the most complimentary way. Exquisite! Asada (Beef): The asada tacos were my least favorite, but only because of the texture. The meat had a bit of a chew, and I prefer mine to be more tender, but that's it. Flavor-wise, these were a 10/10! As an honorable mention, I must bring up the salsas, sauces, sides, and the two char-grilled jalapenos that came with our tacos. Every single salsa, sauce, and side was exceptionally delicious. And the charred jalapenos were a nice touch. I'm so happy that I finally made it, and I'm now a HUGE FAN! All of you need to follow @tacoaina and try her food immediately! Big Island Foodie & Traveler approved = PS Since posting my story during lunch, three people told me that her birria is up there with THE BIG DAWGS and that she usually serves birria on Tuesdays. I guess I'll be back on Tuesday Mahalo, mahalo, mahalo

Best taco outside of Boyle Heights in east LA! Autentico! They put their heart into their cooking and it shines through. Have eaten here many times and have sampled the entire menu. Where do I begin? Tuesday's birria offering is truly one of the best things I've ever eaten. Crunchy, cheesy, meaty and loaded with flavor. This is birria like your abuela used to make. Friday things get interesting. Offerings range from fried battered fish and shrimp, to carnitas (for $3!), tender and flavorful carne asada, exotics like chicken mole, lingua, barbacoa, chicken or ricotta taquitos. There are others but these stand out. My personal favorite is the shrimp, generous portion where there is a big piece of shrimp in every bite. I say that you can go to Taco Aina and get one taco and be full, but you'll buy a second (third or fouth) because they are so delicious. Cute set up off the highway, gives you the feel of Mexico with its bright colors and interesting knick knacks. Order taking staff is friendly and helpful, cook is busy! This is not fast food, it is good flavorful food prepared as fast as possible. If it's busy be prepared to wait - it will be worth it!

Literally the best taco of my life. Had birria tacos today at the stand and wished I was hungrier to order more. So friendly, great prices, best taco I've ever had. Just go here and don't get just 1 you'll regret it.

The most authentic real tasting Mexican food on this side and probably the whole island. I am a taco head but they also have so much more than just 5 different types of taco fillings. The service is awesome even though they can get backed up everyone's taken care of in time and get some hot delicious real Mexican food. Totally a family ambience and operation. Ono

Whoaaaaa! These are the best tacos I've EVER found on the big island and possibly in my entire life. Which says ALOT because I grew up on authentic mexican food. I couldn't believe how delicious. My only criticism might be more of a recommendation, to double-up on the tortilla because they fall apart almost immediately. The meat also has more fat than I'm into but was seasoned so well it didn't even matter. The pickled peppers \\u0026 fruit was honestly the highlight of the entire meal. I even tasted cinnamon in there which somehow blended in gorgeously. LOVE!

Birria tacos are the best I've ever had. Her food is hands down amazing, but the hours seem very inconsistent which is a total bummer and reason I can't give 5 stars

Quite possibly the best tacos Ive ever had. The sauce on the side was absolutely AMAZING! The perfect blend of fresh flavors with a good kick. 12/10 will be back

Saw the food truck at hpp today and figured I'd give it a try. I had the birria for the first time, very tasty! The pickled onions were delish! The tacos had lots of beef and flavor. Price was good too, 2 tacos consume(broth) and a cookie for $7. I'll definitely be going back next Tuesday :)
