This was a great brewery. We go to many in our travels and this was.one of the first times we could not pick a favorite because they were all so good. The owner is great and we appreciate the hospitality we were shown. We feel we made a new friend. Thank you so much.
I'm not much of a beer drinker anymore but I tried some stouts here and was pretty impressed with them! I believe you can bring food in if you like. Otherwise the pretzels are pretty good and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Great drinks, wonderful staff, and Bob Ross on TV.
Wailuku Brew Works is a great little brewery just outside Hilo. The taproom is small but welcoming, with a relaxed local vibe. They offer a wide range of beers, from crisp lagers and hoppy IPAs to rich stouts and creative sours. Everything we tried was solid and clearly made with care.
There was only one staff member working, and she was very friendly and made us feel right at home. While there is no food, they do have pretzels, which was really the only good snack option. Still, the beer and the atmosphere made the visit more than worth it. If you are in the area, this place is definitely worth checking out.
Good selection of quality beers and a really nice staff.
VERY wide variety of beers on tap, all quite delicious!
We are making our way through the breweries of Hawaii and this is our first trip to the big island. This spot was excellent, great variety, Lily the beertender was awesome, and locals were welcoming and friendly. Looking forward to our next trip back here.
Super friendly owners, staff & regulars!!! The Beer’s are AWESOME! Best Saison I’ve ever had! 100% hidden gem in paradise. Beer snob here, growing up in Fort Collins Colorado. Wailuku Brew Works is a great local brewery!
After you spend the day hiking at Volcanos NP and work up a big thirst, stop off at this place on your way back into Hilo. I recommend the Saddle Road Haze followed by a Stay Golden.
Best brewery on the big island in my opinion, we also went to Ola and Kona. We were so impressed we went twice
Restaurantji Recommends
What a great place to hang out, taste so many good tasting quality beers with a wide variety of blends! If you like an intimate setting to meet people and be social! This is your vibe! Owners are also very cool!
A true micro brewery on the big island!! I think I had atleast 10 different beers from them over the week vacation and not one was a miss. The uno mas Mexican lager, barrel aged stouts, and triple stood out to me! Highly recommend for unique beer lovers!
Excellent stop on our way back from the National park. Beer is great and service was awesome. IPA was a must try! Wish they canned for distribution. Stop here if you are near Hilo!
Lydia and Cece will make you feel like Kama’āina even if you’ve never visited the islands before. We visited three times in a week, something we almost NEVER do. (Hi Cruz Blanca!) They don’t do their own food, but one night we had a plate lunch from off-site that was great. They do beers and meads, all are good.
Great selection of tasty brews! Exemplary staff!
