It was OK. Both our orders had very loosely packed shave ice that quickly melted into a syrupy mess, with no distinct flavors of the three syrups. Kind of small ice cream portion too. We definitely preferred Ululanis shave ice.
The best shave ice in Maui, period. The ice is soft and pillowy, the ice cream is still creamy and not hard and the haupia sauce is like condensed milk that better compliments the flavor. The service was fantastic and to top it off the location has A/C. 6 stars.
My wife's favorite dessert in Maui is shaved ice, so we have it a lot. Without a doubt, Da Kine is the best we've ever had, and the staff is maybe the friendliest on the entire island.
