It all started when my big honker could smell something similar to pastries or donuts. I had to stop and ask others that had a booth setup where the delightful aroma originated from. Was told most likely the scent of waffle cones. As I approached the scent was unmistakable. We started with a couple of waffle cones filled with vanilla and chocolate cream. Then added some nut laden cookies. A wonderful sugar high enjoyed by all. Service was excellent as we enjoyed a few minutes sitting at their table enjoying the spoils of the hunt. Follow your nose to delightful pleasures.

Lappert’s Ice Cream in Wailea is hands down one of my favorite spots on Maui. Every visit is a treat, but the strawberry ice cream is next level — rich, creamy, and bursting with real strawberry flavor. You can truly taste the quality and care in every bite. It’s not overly sweet, just perfectly balanced and refreshing. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the shop has a relaxed, island vibe that makes it a great stop after the beach. If you’re in Wailea, don’t miss it — especially if you’re a strawberry lover!

Lappert's Kauai Pie is my favorite ice cream anywhere. So tasty! Service is always fast and friendly. The last time we went, I noticed their cookies, which were only $2.29. That seemed especially reasonable for a storefront. The Paniolo Cookie looked especially good.

Being the only creamery around the area, I was afraid that Lappert's may just be "commerical". But we're so glad we made the stop. The ice cream flavors were definitely local-leaning, with heavy usage of macadamia nuts and we absolutely loved it. It wasn't just some nuts sprinkled on regular ice cream but were truly macadamia-based.
The texture was quite creamy and wholesome, less the airy type. The waffle cones were supposedly freshly made (and I could see the waffle machine) but we may have gotten one that was made quite some time ago. Ours didn't feel fresh and crisp. Other than that though, it was a great experience and we'll absolutely return.
Yes, it can feel a bit pricey but that is the Maui premium.
Parking: Plenty of parking at the Shops at Wailea mall.
