Our server was fabulous! No issues there. Hard to give 5 stars when the restaurant is out of half of the main dishes, seafood, lamb, etc. Still had to wait despite reservations. Music we found weird... eclectic? But odd... Overall, may have just not been my style, but do appreciate our server going above and beyond.

A little disappointed as we felt that substitutions were a major ask and we were getting nickel and dimed, especially for one of our guests that had celiac.

Amazing first experience at Monkeypod. Everything was exceptional, the food, service, drinks. The food was hot which was impressive as I'm usually disappointed by lukewarm food. We will definitely be back!

Great place. The cocktails are amazing. The food was incredible. My only complaint is that the noise level was absolutely insane. Walking into the dining room was like being hit with a sonic club. Fortunately our table was outside where the noise was initially better. Shortly after we were seated they turned on music at concert levels, not background level. I asked if it could be turned down and the server said yes. It got turned down about half a point, then by the next song it was louder than ever. A fire engine passed by lights and siren and I could barely hear it.

We had multiple recommendations for this restaurant and couldn't have been more disappointed. 1 out of 4 dishes was good. Items came out not as ordered. Bad cuts of meat. Would not recommend or go back.

To be clear, we had drinks and the truffled french fries only; not dinner. We sat at the bar and tried the World Famous Mai Tais, which were very good, as were the fries. The barkeep was friendly and funny, and it was quite full at 3:30 pm, so it's a popular place....

Service and energy felt dismissive and weird. Food was okay, and would have been happier somewhere else.

Marvelous Service!

A bit touristy and crowded, the mai tai does live up to the hype!

Best Mai Tai ever! Really great food , very loud and busy restaurant. Make reservations way ahead of time and expect to wait a few minutes still.

Unfortunately since this places opened years ago until today the quality and excitement of the menu has gone down. Not very inspiring. Maybe it has just gotten so popular that the focus is now turn and burn and the little details that once made it special are no longer important. The fish not so fresh, the ingredients listed in the menu substituted for cheaper quality items in hopes you will not notice. Atmosphere and service still great but food not worth the price tag or time. I am sure Merriman would feel some sort of shame to have eaten our dinner this evening and have his name connected to it. It use to be one of my faves. Probably will not return outside of happy hour drinks and small bites in the future if at all. No pics taken bc there was nothing worth showcasing.

This evenings meal couldnt have been any better. Parking was a little difficult as many patron were probably there for the 3:30-5:00 happy hour although we just missed it. So glad we had a reservation for 5:30. Anyway, our waiter, Ryan, put our first round on happy hour. He was great and right on top of everything. Appetizers were fantastic as always. Poke Tacos and Shrimp and Mushroom Potstickers. The Chefs special, Sea Bass w (2)Risotto Cakes topped with Lobster was out of this world and the Coconut Creme pie was a perfect topper for the evening. Best meal we have ever had on Maui so far by far. From the wait staff, to the flavors of our meals, the food was hot, the quick service, we were extremely happy with our decision to wait for a parking spot. Thanks again Monkey Pod for doing what you do. We had a blast.

I was so excited to try this place. Ate dinner night 1. Pizza was just ok. It is Napoli pizza so you have to like that style. The other dishes we ordered were just ok. Mai Tai was fun but just ok. And the beer is not 29 degrees. Day 7 decided to go back. Maybe it was an off night day 1. Well the ribeye was an overpriced joke. Thin. Tough. Not worth the price. The bulgogi tacos were overpowered by the sauce and the macadamia fish was the highlight but just ok. I know proximity may guide you here. Look at the other places first. You likely will have a better dinner x2 than we did.

My wife and I came here on Saturday for dinner and since we made a reservation ahead of time, we got to skip the wait list line outside and go right to the check-in desk. The vibe was awesome inside and they had a great bar setup. The atmosphere was energetic and some great music was okay the whole night. Instead of sitting in the restaurant, we asked to be seated up at the bar. Come to find out, happy hour was still going on (it’s from 3-5pm) and since we already knew which drinks we wanted, we got our order in for cocktails. My wife ordered the No Ka 'Ol, which was made with Ocean Vodka, fresh lime, thai basil, honey-lilikoi syrup - I ordered the Monkeypod Mai Tai as I wanted the famous honey-lilikoi foam topper. As you could except, they were both phenomenal! Eric was the main bartender who took care of us all night and he did a phenomenal job. Our waters were never empty and once our cocktails started running low, he was right back over to check in about another round. After our second round, we ended up order some food. My wife ordered their Mushroom & Truffle Oil Pizza and I ordered the Maui Cattle Company Cheeseburger. We both loved every bite of wha we got although I must say, this was probably one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! It was cooked to perfection, the flavor was incredible, and overall it was just amazing! We managed to squeeze in a third round before happy hour ended - luckily we walked from our hotel to dinner as those Mai Tais pack a punch! Overall, our experience was incredible and we cannot wait to come back! I would highly recommend making a reservation if you’re wanting to dine here, even if you’re just wanting to sit at the bar.

Delicious food and delicious drinks! We really liked the Mai Tai with the Lilikoi foam (be quick to enjoy the foam before it goes flat though!) and their Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi and strawberry pie was a great introduction on our first night on Maui! We went here twice and would recommend asking to eat outside as we really enjoyed that ambiance
