They only serve the fish caught that day. When we went it was marlin - never had before, and tried it in the poke bowl half and half spicy and traditional. Big portion, and excellent all around. Ryan was personable, had good suggestions, and was all around a great intro to SMFC. Would definitely come back!

First off, thank you! The amount of fish in the fish tacos is amazing. All the protein for a mini meat head like myself. Flavorful and filling yet in the not feeling disgusted with yourself way. 10/10 would come again!! Plus on Thursday night “thirsty Thursday” there was live music. A vibe mixed with proteins, sick me up!!!

Dayum! They were out of traditional poke so we got spicy, and per a recommendation from the operator, the fish tacos. The spicy poke was great and the fish tacos were incredible, I've never seen a fish taco that loaded, only two tacos but enough fish for four easy! The operator showed us photos of the fish before it was cooked and it looked beautiful and fresh, way better than what I normally see in even high end stores. It's gonna be hard to try other places instead of just going back!

Great local market in Kihei serving up fresh fish that’s worth the stop!
Tried the fish tacos, which are served on corn tortillas with a pineapple and cabbage slaw. The fish has a sweet teriyaki style marinade.
At first glance I thought these tacos were sort of expensive for two tacos. But, when you see how much fish they give you it’s actually a screamin’ deal! The slaw is crunchy, sweet, and slightly creamy. The tortillas are chewy and warm. The fish is meaty, flaky, and extremely fresh!
I’d absolutely recommend for people to stop by and grab their next meal from South Maui Fish Co. to try this for yourselves!
One small thing I’d change if I were the company would be to turn their two fish filets they serve up in two tacos into three tacos. The two filets are slightly too big and would be better served on three tacos. It would make for a better fish to slaw ratio and allow you to taste more of the individual ingredients.
The service was quick and friendly. I appreciate you can see your order being thrown on the grill and everything is freshly prepared. Casual outdoor seating that gives some reprieve from the sun under umbrellas. There’s nothing overdone here, just straightforward food that’s done with heart and an index for quality fish.

Cute little spot in Aloha Market Place. Friendly staff and amazing tasting food. We had the Poke Bowls, which were super flavorful and fresh, and good sized portion for the price. The atmosphere in the market is great, with reggae playing and friendly people about. Would recommend and definitely worth stopping at if you are visiting Kihei, or the surrounding areas.
