Friends invited us to enjoy kava with them during their Sunday football time. Just in case you aren't quite sure where it is from the main road, Haleakava is tucked away in the middle of the Aloaa Open Market shops with parking in the back. Trying Kava was a must-do on my trip to Maui so we found this chill kava hangout spot. Kava is a traditional root tea which has a calming and mouth-numbing effect. It tastes bitter but you can get it mixed with juices if desired.I'd had a half-shell of kava a few years ago and wanted to explore more.
