Great food and service. We enjoyed the sake too. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen. It was a large serving but great. It was on special so we got veggie pot stickers for a discount. For dessert we had a pineapple creme brulee, so delicious.

Stop here on Christmas eve, place was full and staff still handle it with grace. Super friendly, from waiter to kitchen, everyone had a smile and accommodating, food came out at a reasonable time. Had spicy tantan ramen, garlic shrimp and bread pupus, nice cold orion beer, and the pineapple creme brulee was to die for!The random menu threw me off at the beginning, pasta, ramen, pizza, what? I guess when you are a chef you are a chef :)Mahalos for being open, friendly and a delicious meal.

Tucked away in the corner of the strip next to Longs. The owners are very sweet and their staff is great! I’ve only recently been on the island a month but the food shocked me! The flavors were so reminiscent of home. A home cooked meal in a restaurant setting; what more can you ask for?Chicken katsu curry tasted amazing!

To be fair the food is decent, but overly salted.Service is horrible, unless you are a white guy. We arrived with several clean tables empty, yet the waitress told us to wait outside because they were busy. After about 5 minutes they finally seated us and everything from there was mediocre. Funny thing was the entire time we were there she didn't come to check on us, yet was able to find the time to flirt with the white guys for a long time until the kitchen was calling her.

We cam to Tanpopo on a Friday evening and they were packed and we couldn't get in... so we made a reservation for the following evening and it was no problem to get it. Upon arriving we were shown to our 'reserved' table. The staff there are super friendly.I have to admit the menu is eclectic, pasta to ramen, to flat breads to rice dishes.We ordered the Shio Butter Ramen and the Tonkatsu Ramen bowls. Both were served up hot and fresh.Overall, Servers are wonderful, food is very good and prices are on par with Kihei. Definitely worth your while to try Tanpopo if you haven't been here before. Yup, I'll be back !

We ordered vegetable pot stickers and Tantan ramen. The ramen broth was watery and bland. It should have been the signature foundation for the ramen. It had no depth or aroma. It appeared to be simply boiled ground pork and little else. There was no hint of any vegetables or umami. The vegetable pot stickers were deep-fried not steamed and the vegetables inside were flavorless. The server was attentive and helpful. This restaurant had nothing in common with the excellent movie”Tanpopo” where great care was taken to perfect the ramen broth.

I was intrigued by the Japanese and Italian menu so we stopped by for dinner. We were warmly greeted. The restaurant is very simple and clean. They have offerings from both cuisines but not a fusion which is probably good. Everything was very savory and satisfying. Definitely a great place for comfort food
Took a while to get seated, and the restaurant was not full. It also took a while for the food to come out. But the food was good. oyaku don and chicken karaage was good. It was a little expensive for the amount they gave. Probably won't go back there again. First time there and probably last time.

Legit Japanese restaurant that makes authentic ramen. They make broth using pork and chicken which makes the broth less thicker than pork broth alone. However the broth tastes amazing. Their chashu was one of my top 3 best that I've ever had. Almost..ALMOST melts in your mouth.

Busy, casual, friendly. I had garlic shrimp because they were out of teriyaki butter chicken. The Ceasars salad was an excellent accompaniment and the sauce was really tasty. Highly recommended.

I visit this restaurant more then any other restaurant. The servers are so sweet and it always feels like im dining with friends or family that I like. Don't skip the appetizers of the desserts. The potstickers are some of the best I've ever had. The crepes are better then ones you would find a crepe shop.
Tanpopo is hands down my favorite, most-visited restaurant on Maui. I'm an adventurous eater, and every time I try something new I'm impressed. The staff from servers, kitchen, and owner are all incredibly friendly.Both dessert options are fantastic, absolutely much try the crepes.
