Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice - Kihei

Our experience has been hit or miss. This place is always packed (long line). Without question, this place has the most unique and diverse set of flavors, and recommended combinations. Our favorite combos are “sunset beach”, “party in da mouth”, and “broke da mouth”. Our favorite individual flavors are “calamansi”, “mango habanero”, “tamarind”, and “guava”. However, we are dropping it one star because the quality of the ice is not consistent in our experience. Sometimes it’s unusually fluffy on the outside and unusually hard in the center. Might have been bad luck, because most people rave about this place. One more thing, there is often a long line at closing time. As long as you are “in line” before closing time, you will get served. Whew!

The shaved ice here was absolutely amazing—so light, fluffy, and packed with flavor! The tropical syrups tasted fresh, and the combination of flavors was perfect for a hot day. It was the perfect refreshing treat after exploring Maui. Definitely a must-try!

You can taste the care and love in every bite. Fantastic staff and across the street from a nice beach to chill out and watch the sunset.

Our 1st ever Shave Ice.
I've been told by experts that the texture on this ice is perfect.
My flavor profile was mango pineapple, guava over macadamia nut ice cream. All the flavors were divine. Each had a very distinct taste.
The line was long, but it was worth the wait. Lots of flavor choices.

Not your regular snow cone, these are amazing and I will be back before I leave this beautiful island.

Good shaved ice and the ice is mostly soft, but there are some consistency issues . We went here twice and first time was great - and ice was soft throughout. 2nd time we went - both mine and my husbands order had pretty hard/chunky ice in the middle .

They also put the adzuki beans on the bottom the first time we ordered (which I think is the usual?) , but put them on top the next time we ordered

Ululani's is our favorite shave ice place on all the islands! The ice somehow has a smooth, creamy texture and the syrups are not overly sweet. My favorite combo is coconut ice cream, with mango, guava, and lychee syrup, snow-capped and topped with mochi—SO GOOD!!

Went there in the afternoon. There was parking and outdoor shaded seating. There was a line but it went pretty fast. We got three kids sizes for three adults and one child and that was a good amount. We ordered the no ka oi and the Hawaii rainbow.

One of the best ice shaves I have ever tasted, I have been to many places but this is by far the best one I have ever tasted, the syrup was amazing the ice felt so y'know 'shaved' (Some places I went to just gave A BLOCK OF ICE with flavor in it) unlike most other reviews I made my combination, which I think is the equivalent of the golden ratio in Ice cream, Shaved ice, and Fruit boba. It is a little plain consisting of the flavor's mango, pineapple and passion fruit and nothing else. But Trust me It's REALLY good to people who want something generic, to people who want a blast of fruity flavor. All - around one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth.
