Brenneke's is a place we visit each time we are in Kauai. Over the years, the number of fresh fish offered has declined significantly, but that seems to be everywhere. The food was fine, well worth the price, and the service was strong.

I recently dined at Brennecke's Beach Broiler, a place my parents have loved for years, and I can see why! The owner is incredibly friendly, making everyone feel welcome. The decor, featuring an assortment of sports hats and shirts, adds a fun touch. The location is fantastic, with great beach views and lovely breezes when the windows are open.
My parents, who consider themselves Bloody Mary experts, have raved about their Ultimate Bloody Mary—and they weren’t wrong! It was fantastic, complete with a whole piece of bacon. I also enjoyed a delicious mango margarita.
Since we arrived around 3 PM, we took advantage of their happy hour appetizers: edamame, coconut shrimp, sushi roll, and nachos. Everything was great, but we ended up ordering more sushi because it was so good! My wife had the Hawaiian BBQ chicken sandwich, which was tasty, though the sliced chicken made it a bit messy to eat.
The only downside was our waiter, who didn’t provide the best service. It felt like we were a burden, which was a bit disappointing, especially since we’ve had great interactions with staff at other places while dining with kids.
On a positive note, the next day we met the owner, who was wonderful with the kids. It was heartwarming to see such genuine interaction. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend Brennecke's Beach Broiler!

The views from this restaurant are incredible especially if you're by the window. The food was ok but nothing fancy. My son's chicken tenders were actually really good, but my loco moco was just ok as well as the hamburger we ordered. The staff works hard, but they were understaffed the night we were there which affects the level of service. This is more on management or ownership than the staff. The kitchen was pumping out food much faster than the servers could deliver.
