Food at La Spezia is outstanding! This was the first time dining at La Spezia (party of three), and we couldn't have been more pleased. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. The food was the most delicious any of of us has ever had. I ordered the gnocchi, my friend ordered the short rib ravioli (and couldn't stop raving about it!), and my husband devoured the wagyu hanger steak (he said it was amazing!). The wine we drank was terrific as well (a red zinfandel)! Even though all of us were full, we ordered dessert the salted caramel panna cotta, which was outstanding! All in all a meal we will never forget! We highly recommend La Spezia for a very enjoyable night, to anyone looking for a great restaurant in Koloa.

Greetings, seating, service all wonderful and as expected for our annual visit while in kauai. My house manhattan well made, hubby's limincello, vodka, basil drink missing the strawberry syrup that we could see present in the same drnk at the next table. Caesar salads ok and gladly paid a few bucks for the white anchovies. Dressing could have been boosted with a bit of garlic and Worcester. My seafood pasta practically inedible because it was swimming in too much broth. Needed more bread and parm to try to dry it out. Pasta slipped off the fork and spoon to splash back in the bowl. A glance at the nearby table having the same dish showed his was not soupy. Eggplant parm dish was OK but please peel the bitter skins. Overall we think will skip this restaurant next year.

I thought the restaurant was overpriced. The Caesar salad was horrible for $13. For another $6, you could get 2 overpriced anchovies. Oxtail Pappardelle was good but overpriced. Service was average at best. No need for us to return.

We had Jimmy as our waiter, and he was wonderful! Incredibly friendly, kind and so knowledgeable about the menu options!!! The restaurant has a great atmosphere, the staff is friendly and attentive, the prices are good for the area, but the food is mediocre at best.The Focaccia is flavorful, buy is very flat. Focaccia needs to have volume and bubbles. My husband had the lasagna with Bolognese and it was ok. A bit too spicy (in my opinion) for Bolognese, but it had flavor. I ordered the short rib ravioli (sounded great) and it was really bad. The sauce tasted like it was a Lipton soup onion package. The pasta was fresh, but overall a tasteless experience. AND.....before the management or anyone else tells me I don't know what I'm talking about, I DO know what I'm talking about. I have been blessed to work with some of the best chefs in the world and also went to culinary school. We really only went out to eat because I needed a break from cooking in our rented condo and we had been running around all day long. I feel like the place has so much potential. I was hoping for much better.

Enjoy a very good Italian meal in this quaint little restaurant. Ryan the bartender is a local who enjoys serving and a fabulous mixologist. Stop in and enjoy good food and drinks.
Good food, service rushed, rude and uncomfortable. So sad, Unfortunately not as good as when they opened years ago.

We booked a table at this restaurant well in advance, but unfortunately, we made a small mistake and reserved for 4 people instead of 5. When we arrived as a group of 5, instead of trying to help or accommodate us, the staff treated us very rudely and made the situation unpleasant. Mistakes happen, but the way they handled it was disappointing and unprofessional. Not recommended.

Who would have thought, thousands of miles from Italy in the middle of the Pacific Ocean you’d find truly 5 star Italian food? Yet here we are. This place is exceptional. Excellent food and service. Classic Italian dishes with a little bit of unique flair. Good size portions. Reasonable prices considering you’re in Kauai.

After enjoying numerous evenings of fresh seafood, we were aiming for something different, and this was exactly what we needed. Amazing food and drinks, complemented by wonderful service. We had the best visit, and will absolutely return when we visit the island again.
