It was fine . Food was very good, but not exceptional. Portions were modest, so a shared plate really felt a bit skimpy. (Would have been nice to get a heads-up on that.) We cane at 7:15 -- earliers they could get us in -- and our waiter seemed stressed and exhausted. I had noted someone's birthday in the reservation, but no mention was made of it by waiter or anyone else. We had decided not to order drinks that night (we'd been celebrating our way through the week), and when he brusquely grabbed up the wine glasses I had the feeling that if we weren't spending $ on alcohol, we were "demoted" to second-class patrons. Hopefully that was just my imagination, as I really appreciated having my adult kids tone down the drinking a bit. I see an option of this restaurant as "great for scenic views" -- in a shopping mall? Did I miss something?

Arrived about 15 minutes earlier than reservation but were seated right away, at a table with an amazing view of the ocean and mountains in the distance. Service was excellent. When I mentioned I was vegan, the server pointed out what was, or could be made, vegan, or they could make me something special if I would like. My guest ordered one of the specials, which was a HI fish and raved about it. Food came out very quickly as well. Views were amazing. Highly recommend going at sunset!

Merriman's doesn't disappoint. We were being seated in a great location but the evening musician, while quite talented, was just way to loud for us so our hostess graciously seated us further back in the restaurant. We could barely hear each other but other patrons didn't seem to mind. One of the servers began doing a traditional hula to the music and it was quite entertaining. Our server for the evening was Kai. We had the pleasure of having him the week before and he is great. Very attentive and ready to answer any questions we had. We both started with Merriman's classic Caesar salad with fried green tomatoes - awesome. My husband went for the filet mignon with taro whipped potatoes and green beans. He very much enjoyed it. I ordered the seared Ono special that was finished in a brilliant lemon sauce and mushroom stuffed gnocchi dumplings. It was very good. We finished our meal with a shared “chocolate purse”. We had a great evening, outstanding meals and excellent server.

Good food, excellent service. Would not order the “lobster” mac n cheese, nothing special about it flavor wise,” and definitely not worth the cost of this dish. Beautiful sunset views!

The food was good. The service was a little lacking, but we were a party of 8. The real shortcoming was the inability to get bar service while waiting for our table to be ready. Doesn't make sense they wouldn't want to make some more money.

We had an incredible experience at Merriman’s Poipu! From start to finish, the service was outstanding. Our server, Eric, went above and beyond—he gave us thoughtful, honest recommendations from the menu and even shared great suggestions for other restaurants in the area. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious, and you could tell how much care goes into the food here.
The host also made us feel so welcome, acknowledging our anniversary right away, which added such a special touch to the evening. Between the warm hospitality and fantastic flavors, this was the perfect spot for our celebration.
Merriman’s is truly a 5-star restaurant, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

We went for dinner with a party of 7 including two toddlers and our server, Becky was incredible! She brought them drawing pads and put their food in quickly. She was knowledgeable on the menu, patient and just very sweet and lovely. The food was delicious. The famous Mai Tai's were perfection. The restaurant is beautiful with a gorgeous view and live music.
