Small and very friendly restaurant, the owner was fantastic - a small issue with food was dealt with excellently, great drink recommendations. Highly recommended!
A very good place for dinner, even if you aren't much into wine tasting. Their food menu is fairly slim compared to other restaurants, but every dish we tried was exceptional. The rib eye steak, Chicken Marbella, and Olive Tapenade were the standouts for me. Service was also friendly.
During my recent visit to The Tasting Room in Koloa, Kauai, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional dining experience. The charcuterie board was a standout, featuring a delightful selection of specialty cured meats and cheeses, including local options that showcased the island’s flavors. The portions were generous, making it an ideal starter to share.
The service was notably prompt and attentive, enhancing the overall experience. Given the restaurant’s popularity, I recommend making reservations in advance to ensure a seamless dining experience.
For dessert, the apple cobbler cheesecake was a highlight, offering a perfect balance of sweetness and texture. Additionally, exploring their wine flights is a must, providing an excellent opportunity to sample a variety of selections from their extensive wine list.
Overall, The Tasting Room offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a top choice for both locals and visitors seeking a memorable dining experience in Kauai.
I always love this place great food, amazing wines and drinks, always something new and different. Consistently excellent.
Great food, probably my favorite meal on my trip. They have great wine selections available in 2 oz and 5 oz pours. Friendly service. Recommend.
Had a fantastic time here. After an abysmal experience at Stevenson’s Library at The Grand Hyatt this place saved the day. Warm, welcoming atmosphere and enthusiastic welcome and exuberant service by Meg. All that and a delicious meal served quickly,
we felt so valued and appreciated. Highly recommended for a better-than-tourist experience.
Awesome dinner last night. Had the French onion soup, artichoke dip, and the short rib special. We tried 4 different reds and then ordered a glass each. Great place to go. Excellent food and service
Great vibe. Outdoor seating is lovely. The food was mediocre. We ordered the house flatbread and pesto Mahi Mahi. The flatbread had minimal toppings. The fish was fresh and well cooked, but the dish had minimal flavor; really no pesto to speak of. We asked the waitress for more pesto sauce, lemon, and cracked pepper. She didn't want to deal with it, and was curt for the remainder. Definitely not going back. Our lunch at the food truck for a fraction of the price was better.

Found The Tasting Room on Google searching for a decent place to eat. Called to book a 7:00 res for two (no online reservations!). We got there a half hour early and they sat us almost immediately. The location is in Old Town Kōloa and the space is very charming. Our server was Kristine and I can’t say enough about her service! She knows everything about every item on the menu including an extensive knowledge of their wine list. We had the French Onion Soup (or should I say Maui Onion soup) and it was amazing. Next was the TR salad. We thought is was similar to a wedge, but with dill added. i told Kristen that I had been disappointed in the past ordering Hamachi Crudo because of the price compared to the portion. She convinced me to order it and I was very happy I did!!! I also wanted the burrata, but we passed. I saw it on the next table and it looked terrific. For our main, we split the Rib Eye Board. Ordered medium rare and it was perfect (Hot tip, have the chef slice it especially if you’re sharing). For dessert, we had the Apple Cobbler Cheesecake and added a scoop of vanilla ice cream. A great way to end the dinner. They have what appears to be a pretty good wine selection and I love the way you can order a 2 oz, 5 oz or a bottle. With a 2 oz pour, you can create a wine tasting flight. The Tasting Room is a family owned restaurant and it shows in a very customer focused way. At the end of the evening we had the opportunity to meet Megan, one of the owner/family members. Very sweet!!! If your plans to Hawaii include Kauai, I would strongly recommend having dinner there (they are closed Sunday and Monday).

I have been coming to Kauai for 16 years. Why has it taken so long to discover the Tasting Room in old Koloa town? The food is absolutely amazing, service impeccable and has the perfect atmosphere. Dani and Megan are absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to come back. The food, wine and people are the best! Cheers and Mahalo!!!!

Wine flights are thoughtfully selected to give the taste buds a tease for a few additional glasses. The food is the best we’ve had during our stay. Owner and staff are engaging and fun. Just make the reservation, you won’t regret it.
