We had a great time at the Luau. We had purchased the VIP package for our family of five and had an assigned table in the front row. Things to know for those attending- the line to check in started early. We showed up at 5:15pm and there was probably 100 people in line already. Panic set in as we were not sure why we paid extra if we weren’t doing anything differently. Once you check in though, you realize that you had an assigned seat all along, and the staff directs you into two separate lines. We all received a nut lei and the kids got temporary tattoos. The drinks were freely flowing and the food was great. We all really enjoyed the show and would recommend to those visiting the island

Definitely more like a dinner theater. If you're looking for the pig roasting on a beach, this isn't for you.

It does have good food and performance, and the staff were very friendly and responsive, but for the price point, it just didn't deliver. Felt like an aggressively cost-optimized experience.

My husband and I had chosen to enjoy Drums of the Pacific Luau as part of our resort credit we had while staying at the Hyatt Regency Maui. This show was PHENOMENAL. The dancers, band, hostess all obviously enjoy what they do. We were very impressed by the show aspect but the food was also super delicious and we felt we had a balanced plate of Hawaiian cuisine. I will remember our night vividly for a long time and every person putting on that show deserves recognition. Thank you Hyatt for a memorable evening!

Soooo much fun. A definite must when visiting Maui

The performance is a well told story about the Hawaiian people shared through a narrator and various types of music and dance.

Great first experience at a luau. They had historical storytelling and ended the night with the fire batons. Pretty cool overall, but definitely gave hotel vibes as it was at the Grand Hyatt.

Amazing experience. Highly recommended! Great food , friendly staff and skilled performers. A must see event.

Not worth it. Show was good food was very marginal and was lied to in regard to vegan options. My niece had some crappy noodles carrots and cucumbers. Desert was boxed brownies, glorified twinkees (pineapple upside down cake) and canned fruit cocktail. Hawaii is beautiful but the people treat you like crap while over charging you.

Pleasant, but expensive

The entertainment/dancers for the Drums of the Pacific Luau did an incredible job. The sound wasn't good though and we couldn't hear the lady that was narrating so that made it hard to know what was going on. It was fun, I just wish we would have been able to hear the stories that went with the dances.

Really good luau, highly recommend. We first saw the show during a brief window, after the Covid shutdown and before they re-instituted the large gatherings ban in 2021. It was great to come back and see the show in its full glory in 2025. Food quantity and quality (buffet) were much better this time around.

My visit to Maui Hawaii was great, and I really enjoyed the Luau. The fire dance performance was phenomenal, and I will definitely go back next year to see the show.
The food was good and served at the Hyatt in a buffet style. What I can say is that the food wasn't exceptional or unique to what you would find on mainland USA, even though that is what we hoped for.
