Great home cooked Hawaiian food and friendly atmosphere
Lady at front was sooo rude for no reason . Food looked rushed and not cooked .
Good local food !
Majorly disappointed in the way I was treated here.
My wife found this place while we were traveling and it seemed right up our alley. The fish options were great, and we like buying at local restaurants and farmers markets when we travel. We stopped in for lunch and as I was getting ready to pay she said they are cash only. I should figured that by the sketchy ATM machine they have in the corner, but I figured we should have enough cash to cover it. I came up 95 cents short. I was scrambling for any change in the rental, no dice, and no other options provided by the cashier than using that ATM machine.
By this point I feel committed so I run my card in the atm and pay the extra $5 to get a little bit of cash, but I hate using ATM machines in general, and make it a personal choice to avoid sketchy privately owned machines especially. So even though I’m feeling annoyed I had to do that, I can’t blame the restaurant if they aren’t set up to take card payments.
So now I’m waiting inside for my food, and the next lady orders and comes up 60 cents short, and I was thinking of fronting her a buck. I had a few extra now but before I could offer the teller says ‘no worries I’ll get it next time from you’. I was stunned. I was 95 cents short, not much different, where was that option for me? Now it was clear the lady was local. It sounded like she comes in somewhat regularly, so I was feeling more annoyed but I could understand if she comes in more regularly than someone like me who is just passing through.
But while I’m still waiting for my food the next lady comes in. Orders a bunch of food, and pulls her card out. The cashier says ‘cash only’, but once this customer looks defeated and realizes the dilemma she is in, the cashier says “we’re usually cash only but I can run your card this one time”. And pulls out a card machine.
By this point I am stunned and ticked off. Then she hands me my food with no explanation, no discussion to be had. I took my food and left, but was very disappointed that I was just expected to look in my car for change and ultimately figure out how to make up a 95 cent difference on my own, but these two other customers were given a totally different treatment mere seconds after me.
Eventually I did try the food I ordered. The Mac salad was great. The grilled mahi was very good. The cod was just fine. But I don’t think I would go back or recommend it if someone asked. It was too frustrating of an experience.
Good Food, But Terrible Service
I had heard great things about Okazuya and was excited to try it, especially since they seemed to be pretty busy—which usually means the food is solid. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the hype.
The staff was not friendly and, quite frankly, came off as extremely rude. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was off. When we got our order, one plate was missing, and there was no apology or effort to make things right—it felt like we were an inconvenience more than customers.
Also, a heads-up: they only take cash, which isn’t posted anywhere visible. We were only told after placing our order, which made things more stressful than it needed to be.
The food itself was good, but with service like this, it’s hard to enjoy the experience. If you do decide to go, keep expectations low for customer service—and definitely bring cash.
Ordered Mongolian Beef and Chicken Korean BBQ and both were truly delicious.
We went to the restaurant to order. While waiting for the food to be ready, I checked and noticed food was $5 cheaper per dish onsite than ordering through DoorDash for pickup. BTW, you will need to pay cash when ordering at the restaurant. Nice people, quick service, delicious food at good prices.
Best chicken katsu I’ve ever had and my wife loved her Mongolian beef. Sad we found this place on our last night on the island.
Wow! The food is fabulous, tangy and delicious. We had to come back twice. Do not pass this place up.
Parking: This is a strip mall. Just drive in and park. Bathroom are on side of the mall.

Turkey wrap was falling apart covered in sauce so i couldnt hold it without getting hand drenched. Half of the wrap was opened on both ends so everything fell out. 20$ and got 1 or 2 slices if deli turkey.

Been coming here for years. Every single time i visit Maui, i stop by. Okazuyas are the places i enjoy eating at. The moco loco, chicken katsu, macaroni salad and mahi mahi are excellent. Try going here before or after the rush hours during lunch or dinner. The parking lot gets full quick.

The teriyaki steak is hit or miss. The 1st time we got it, was so ono. The 2nd time, the meat was thin and over cooked. The Mac salad was bland.
The cashier took a few minutes to acknowledge me at the register to order. Then she was not very friendly at all. When I asked for shoyu for my to order, she gave me 1 tiny packet, and walked away.
