Service was good, we were able to get drinks immediately. Ahí Bruschetta was very good including a GF alt which was their GF pizza crust. The chicken jadori was extremely overcooked and dry and the Italian sausage pizza w pepperoni was lacking all the things that make a pizza great: sauce, cheese, garlic. No special touches added for our honeymoon and check was dropped without asking. We've been dining at high end restaurants the whole trip so this was a wild one. Would definitely skip.

Always a great dining experience at Honu. Our table had pizzas, kale salad, ahi bruschetta, Greek salad, wagyu beef raviolis, macaroons, and lilikoi raspberry tarts. All fantastic!

Once again a wonderful dining experience! Our table felt like it was on the ocean. Our waiter was unbelievably amazing. No rush and allowed us to enjoy each entree with great advice from his experiences. Too many favorites to mention but save room for dessert you have to try the banana cream pie and that butterscotch dessert. Justin thank you making one of our last dining experiences such a special treat for all of us. Mahalo

All of our food was excellent. The ahi bruschetta is a must have! Justin was a great server, attentive but not overly present. A manager, Pam, stopped by to check on us and gain real time feedback. Great vibe. Very pricey but felt the quality of the food and portion sizes justified premium dining pricing in an area that is already over priced due to tourism. First time dining here so glad to hear they reopened after the Lahaina fires and are providing a great experience.

Our dinner was simply delectable, one of the best meals we’ve ever had, on and off the island of Maui. We’ve been around the world and eaten at some of the finest restaurants in Europe and the Americas, and Honu Oceanside was truly, a real culinary treat. The only slight criticism I have is about the appetizers, they were very good, and I hesitate to even critique them, I mean who am I telling these folks how to cook, so it’s purely just my opinion, but you’re the one reading google reviews. Ahi bruschetta could have been a bit smaller, would have made it more manageable to eat, less would have been more in this case. The balsamic and the tomato stole the show and the Ahi played second fiddle, however, great preparation and presentation. The grilled octopus could use a little work, the texture seemed more boiled than grilled, maybe our dish just needed more time over the fire or less time in the pot. But again, good preparation great presentation. The cornmeal fried oysters were a joy to consume, nice flavor, nice seasoning, nice sauce and great preparation and presentation. On to the star of the show, the special they provided that night was Monchong, “sickle pomfret”, locally caught, grilled served over an edamame risotto topped with two grilled shrimp presented in a ginger coconut champagne beurre blanc. Dude… this was the best fish we’ve had, maybe ever, and we’re from the Pacific Northwest, the land of fresh seafood of all kinds. From the first bite of that sweet and mildly spicy sauce to the last forkful of all the missed little specks of fish left soaking on the plate, this dish was extraordinary. The risotto was a perfect match for the fish as well. To end our meal with dessert, the banana cream pie was the perfect coda to a wonderfully Hawaiian dinner experience, light, fluffy, creamy, sweet, really flavorful and not too sugary. The staff was so nice and welcoming we instantly felt comfortable, our hostess our server and the manager were all such a joy to talk to and interact with. The view at sunset was amazing, as I’m sure it is any other time of day. The atmosphere was jovial and comforting and relaxed. I can’t wait to come back here and make it one of the regular places we go to when we’re lucky enough to get back to the island of Maui.

Beautiful venue. We enjoyed our time here. We were seated outside mere feet away from the water. I had the fish and chips. Probably the best fish and chips I've had on the island. My wife had a lobster salad. It looked very fresh and delicious. Our server was attentive and filled our glasses promptly. Couldn't have asked for more.

Great place but way over priced. Merriman’s prices for food that is not as good. The interior is worn in a number of places. While we loved our waiter and the food was solid, there are several places at or above this level at significantly lower prices (Sea House, etc).
The best fish and chips I’ve ever had. I think they must change what kind of fish is in them. These were ahi tuna and they were perfect. The service was also great and the atmosphere and view were amazing too!

My husband and I came to Honu Oceanside on our first day in Maui. We made our reservation a week before knowing it's difficult to make reservations in Lahaina the day of. We were thrilled to be in Lahaina and to support local businesses there. This being our first visit to Maui we weren't sure what to expect. Honu Oceanside far exceeded our expectations and reassured us that Lahaina is on its way back.
The owners have totally renovated the restaurant and it's quite lovely. We had a perfect table with an amazing view. I could throw my fork and land it in the ocean, that's how close we were to the water. We reserved a table at 6:00 pm and watched the sunset while turtles swam near the waters edge. It was magical.
We started with oysters on the half shell along with sake and favored each bite, then devoured a lobster salad together. Kirk had the chicken entree and I had the rack of lamb. The portions were just right and everything cooked to perfection. We finished with a lemon and raspberry dessert beautifully presented by their pastry chef. Everything was just right. It was by far our best meal on Maui.
