Portions of food were smaller than earlier this year . Mai Tai was much all the other times we have dined there. Service was good . Staff was very good and helpful. The Mahi Mahi was very good , but it was half the portion than before. Mahalo.

Mala never disappoints! Blessed with an outstanding location right on the Lahaina shoreline and supported by great service, fresh ingredients, a creative menu is formula for a wonderful meal.

We've always enjoyed Mala, particularly because of its location on the waterfront, and it surviving the devastating Lahaina fire made us want to support it all the more. But this time it just felt that the restaurant was digging too deep into our pocketbooks for the fare it is delivering. Prices, especially for entrees, are high! Like 25-30% too high. Considering we weren't over the top with our ordering, it didn't feel like we got a lot of bang for our buck. Service was very friendly and the location was awesome, as always, but we left not feeling quite as enamoured with the place as we had previously been. We really think Mala could stand to take a bit of a look at its prices, and maybe offer some more affordable entrees to keep old fans coming back.

Mala Tavern is always a highlight when we visit Maui. The food is great, we love it when we are able to sit Oceanside, and the service is always terrific. They have the best Mai Tais as well!

This is definitely a lively place. The food was amazing, we had 4 different entrees all of which were delicious, the Mahi Mahi (sauce is outstanding), Seared Ahi, Scallops with Risotto, and a Special Seafood Curry!!Yummy! Would highly recommend! The only downside was our waiter was a little scattered, took quite a bit of time between his visits to get our drink order, appetizers and then our dinner order. The rest of the staff was very good.

What a fabulous dinner experience! An oceanfront view and the best meal of the week. We started with Oyster Shooters, the Hummas appetizer and fabulous drinks during Happy Hour. We followed that up by sharing the Fried Whole fish of the day... beautiful presentation and it was DELICIOUS. Our server, Cat, was outstanding!

Customer service was excellent - the hostess, manager , waiters were all great. The Curry and pasta dishes were very enjoyable. The Steak was disappointing as it was replaced with something less appealing, and the amberjack fresh catch was just OK.

Worth the 45 minute trip from the Wailea resort we were staying at. This place is simple yet charming. You are seated close to the other patrons, so you inevitably get to know your neighbors. Everyone was friendly and seemed to be celebrating a special occasion. So spirits run high. Good vibe all around and the sunset and scenery are made for the movies. Food, wine and service were very good as well. Would definitely come back.
