First off, let it be known that my husband and I ate at Miso Phat three times in the six days we were in Kaanapali. We could not get enough of the TNT Roll (it truly is DYNAMITE!). The restaurant itself is pretty casual and there are few tables inside; but, if you go during off hours, it shouldn't be a problem to get in. Servers are excellent and provide great suggestions. The quality and portion of the nigiri and rolls are impressive. This is definitely worth a stop; you can also pick up a cute shirt or hat of which they have a wide selection. They do not serve alcohol, but you can BYOB, and there is a liquor store a couple doors down.
Great place - Great Food - Go. Fresh sushi. Small place so go early. A must visit for those looking for great value and great sushi

We had a great experience at the Miso Phat Sushi on December 3rd around 8:15 PM. The staff was super friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in, which made the whole experience even better. The restaurant is clean, cozy, and has a great vibe for dining in.
We tried a few of their Chef Specials, along with the Hamachi Nigiri, the Hamachi Kama, and the TNT Roll. Everything was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The Hamachi Kama was cooked perfectly—crispy on the outside and tender inside—while the Hamachi Nigiri had that melt-in-your-mouth quality you hope for. The TNT Roll had generous portions and amazing flavor, and the Miso Soup was the perfect warm start to the meal.
For Maui, the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. No wonder this spot is famous the food, service, and atmosphere all come together beautifully. We left full, happy, and definitely planning to return.

Wonderful rolls! Great service. Always busy and parking can be difficult so give yourself extra time on the front end.

I love all things Lahaina and really didn’t wanna be a hater, but this place was not what I expected. I might be used to a specific finesse with sushi, or it might be because my standards were high after having amazing sushi on Kauai, but I really didn’t like most of the food or service here. The habanero masago and jalapeños combined were WAY too spicy and pungent, my eyes were watering for the whole meal afterwards. I also felt like I was getting ignored and rushed while other (Caucasian) patrons were getting attended to without any issues. I understand service was spread thin with so many guests in the restaurant, but I didn’t know why it was so unevenly bad for me. I do think some of the fish was decent quality, so I see the value of this place, but it’s just definitely not the right place for me or people like me.

By far, the best sushi that we’ve had. The taste and size of the rolls were perfect. We will be back in the near future. Mahalo 😎🌴.

My husband and I raved about our sushi at Miso Phat. I am pregnant and bummed I couldn’t enjoy raw fish, but I will say that they recommended the Rockin Roll and Tempura Roll which were both baked, and they were both incredible. My husband got the 007 Roll and the Local Roll (whatever they fresh caught that day). He was obsessed with his sushi too! We wish we lived in Maui so this could be our sushi spot - instead we will forever compare our Minnesota sushi spots to the delicacy of Miso Phat Sushi in Maui and forever be disappointed… highly recommend Miso Phat!

Restaurantji Recommends
Food was alright, overpriced for sure for the quality! Hamachi was fishy and NOT fresh/tasty... Rest sake, maguro, tako were acceptable. Miso was brownish water WITH NO taste! Will not be returning.
Sticky menus needs a wipe!
Friendly staff.
Atmosphere equal to hole in the wall, entrance more like giftshop than restaurant.

Took a surprisingly long time to get seated (30 minutes for 4), which made us really hope the food was going to be good. Unfortunately the food was pretty bad. Was served sushi that looked and smelled really off, which to their credit they replaced. But the nigiri sushi had gigantic portions of rice and seemed very amateurish and tasted more like a slab of fish thrown on a pile of rice. Pretty bad sushi unfortunately even for casual expectations. Service was fine though

Came in for late lunch. Had a 10 piece sushi combo and soft shell crab hand roll. Excellent fresh fish, big portions, good rice, tasty hand roll. Fast friendly service. Excellent grilled hamachi collar and baked mussels.
