Food was good, service was slow, music was playing way too loud to the point where even our waitress couldn't hear what we were ordering. Turn down the music volume!
This is a lovely restaurant with great food and attentive, knowledgeable wait staff. We got to sit right on the beach side, so views were fabulous. Drinks are. Yummy. Spendy, but where isn't it on Maui? You won't be sad you gave it a try.
Lively and fun atmosphere with great service. The Mai Tai was to die for! The food was a strong 4 1/2. We would go back again.
Our experience would be better if we had a more attentive server. Kaitlyn did not check in on us at all after serving our food. My wife was feeling sick and as a result did not touch her food. Being in the service industry, we'd expect she'd check in to see if we needed anything but she didn't check in again until the end. We were unattended for almost an hour. I had finished my Mai Tai early and was debating on getting a second drink but wasn't given the option to order another (granted I could went to the bar or track down our server but I didn't want to leave my wife). The food was delicious and the ambience was very nice but we felt neglected and uncomfortable with Kaitlyn's service.
This is the second visit here and I ordered the same meal as previous visit but was disappointed in the quality of the food. The dish contained much less protein than before and is was undercooked and cold. The whole meal felt rushed so that they could turn over the table. Definitely better places to eat with much better food quality.
Great food, great service.. Fish was perfectly cooked. Drinks are well made and delicious. The pie is outstanding. We got the banana and strawberry pies to split. They were great.
Amazing experience with a friendly waiter. Food was fantastic. Mai tai was also delicious. Can't recommend this place enough!
The only negitive is my sons foot got cut when a waiter. Dropped a glass and cut his foot. No apology or consideration of help.
We chose to dine at Monkeypod Kitchen to avoid the overpriced, mediocre food options at our resort in Ka'anapali. The energetic atmosphere, great live music, & excellent service were a highlight of our dining experience, but unfortunately the food was not. I ordered the "Chef's Special" which was a sea bass with lobster over seasoned veggies. While my expectations were high for fresh Hawaii seafood, the sea bass was very dry (likely a frozen filet) with minimal lobster meat. The veggies were also overcooked, dry, & over-seasoned to the point that I could not finish my plate. I just felt disappointed paying $55 for this special meal that missed the mark. While I could have relayed this concern to our server, I am typically not "that person" to return a meal to the kitchen. My honest critique is intended for improvements! However, special shout-out to our server Kenny. He was very personable, attentive, & genuinely a nice person. Mahalo!
Sat at the bar. Worst service I've had in years. Atrocious. Takes a lot for me to say this. Worked in service for years

Just a wonderful moment. Louis our server was really Nice and absolutly everything that we ate was really tasty and delicious
I wish I remembered the name of our server as he was brilliant, friendly, knowledgeable & really helpful. The atmosphere is great. The food was ok, the shrimp was quite overcooked & so was the fish of the fish & chips which surprised me, I thought the seafood would be perfect but it didn't really spoil the evening, it's just an observation as it wasn't bad enough to send back. Definitely worth visiting.
Disappointed that you can't go to the bar and order a drink while you wait for your table the bar is part of the waiting experience.
A lively place with an extremely high noise level in the evening with live music and many tables. Very hard to have a conversation with your table mates. Pizzas were just ok, but my cocktail was excellent. We prefer a quieter dining experience but the party-vibe atmosphere seemed to be very popular and the restaurant was packed.
Total tourist trap. Ordered wings, burger, fish sandwich, and taro ravioli. All terrible. Garlic wings had no garlic. Burger looked like a slop, and how do you manage to have dry fish on a soggy bun at the same time? And since when burger does not come with fries? And if it does not, should the waiter say something? There is also a 4% kitchen charge, in addition to the tip.
