Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman - Kaanapali, Maui

We made the reservation for 8:30 pm, when we arrived, there were plenty of table and people without reservation got tables easily. Food was great, but the person who brought our food, just threw the plate at us. Our server was okay too, it wasn't a very busy night. We ordered steak for myself, cooked to perfection, husband had Shrimp & lobster fettuccini which was good with a good portion. Great atmosphere and highly recommend to go and try Monkeypod at this location.

Best Mai tai on the island. The food was pretty good. But the other Merriman’s had better food.

Great atmosphere and location with live music while we had dinner there for our last night in Maui. Service was so so. Not bad but not particularly good either. Was not checked on after drinks and food arrived. Apps arrived after our entrees and no mention from waiter about that. Mai Tai was fantastic as well as the Jerk Chicken, Burger and fries. The Saimin and Pizza was also pretty good but both had inedible fatty kalua pork pieces that shouldn’t have made it on the plates. Cornbread was $8 for two tiny pieces. Service and details on food were a bit of a letdown for an almost $200 meal.

Adorable spot for drinks snacks and/or a meal - apparently they serve 800 Mai Tais a day! I believe it - location was beautiful and long queue to get in - make reservations :)

Food is great, everything we tasted was delicious. Drinks are tasty and they have a good variety. Good portions and kid friendly. I recommend a reservation, the wait can be long after 6:30pm. Live music!

The food was absolutely wonderful! There were 4 of us in our party. Each of us were amazed at the amount of flavor and freshness of everything. I highly recommend the avocado - cucumber salad! We also tried the hamburgers, enchilada soup, fries, and street taco, cream pies. My husband really enjoyed the draft beer - amber ale. Great selection of beer on tap. I really like their special Mai-Tai.
The atmosphere was comfortable with a peek a book view from our seats. Live music - single musician was very good!
We were there on a Thursday late lunch.
The wait staff was great and very attentive and professional!
Recommend reservations/ open door. Timely seating even though we arrived a bit early! Paid parking but they validate your ticket for up to 2 hours.

The food was delicious, our waiter was wonderful, and the Mai Tais were a perfect 10/10! I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars only because it wasn’t our absolute favorite restaurant on Maui, it was quite loud, and the service was a bit slow. That said, I’d definitely visit again and still recommend it to others!

Get reservations! Not mandatory but good idea. I must have gotten the wrong food because I feel this place is all hype. The fusion menu has lots of choices which was good but rather than mixups offer basic and good, not mixed up and just ok. (Strike 1) Knew I was in trouble when the waitress said everything is alacart. (Strike 2) then the noise. It was sooooo loud in the restaurant. I’m sure patio seating would have been less but could not have a conversation with my wife sitting next to me. (Strike 3) saving grace was beer menu and our server. It took forever for our food to arrive and they messed up a cheese burger?? (Strike 4) it takes good but the burger itself was a literal ball of meat. Not a patty, a ball!? Broccoli salad was interesting in a good way. Portions are small so there’s that too. Maybe it was just an off night or I got the worst items on the menu.

We had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately the food was a pretty big let down.
The atmosphere was amazing! Everything from the location to the decor and layout was awesome.
Service was also great. Our server was extremely welcoming and friendly.
The food, however, was just disappointing. I got the pizza, which I had high hopes for. Unfortunately it was way undercooked. Almost like they were trying to get the food out way to quickly. Crust was basically still dough on the bottom. My girlfriend got the fish special which was some sort of mushroom mahi and lobster thing. She took one bite and had to pass. For how expensive this place is, we expected much better.
Again, our server was amazing and took the fish off our bill. I decided to pay for the pizza and take it back to the room. Cant realy judge a restaurant on one visit, but unfortunately we won't be back for at least a year.
