Fabulous Macadamia crusted Mahi Mahi and a wonderful Caesar salad. The wait staff was super hospitable! We highly recommend Roy’s! A little more $$$ but worth he extra dollars!!

We have come to expect consistently good food and service from Roy's, but this visit left a bit to be desired. It wasn't bad - just average.

It’s sad this has gone downhill so badly. Food is average at best. Prices for what you get are exorbitant. Go elsewhere.

The butterfish was exceptional. Didn't need the onion on top though. My husbands filet mignon was cooked perfectly also did not really need and sauce on it. All the sides were good and it was a quiet early dinner we really enjoyed. Used to go to Mamas fish house but they just lost their touch a couple years ago. . The crème brûlée was the perfect ending
Have been here many times; quality of food is usually good; people are always great

Really disappointed, our last dinner in Maui ,had been to this location many times for lunch and was outstanding, our server seemed disinterested and maybe covering to many tables , appetizers came fast but our meal took an unusually long time and did notice other meals coming out before ours even though they were seated much later than us , my meal was barely warm and when the food runner warned about the hot plate I touched it to move it and it was warm , I did make our ser er aware and she offered the remake , 10 minutes later it arrived, my wife long since finished , the meat loaf was hot as well potatoes but veg were barely warm , after all this my appetite was gone so packed it up to go , manager didn't charge for my entee, but really nothing else or and never came to the table to explain or apologize, I'm not sure it's the same Roy's that we remember, in this location, we have been to others and never as disappointed as last night
The people working are very nice and kind. The complete operation is not what Roy's is about. Staffing is tough. The pre-COVID Roy's did not show itself on this visit. Despite trying, there is no understanding or knowledge of the wine list. In fact the wine we desired was out of stock. The menu was uninspired. Yes, just average. No amazing preparations or sauces. Good, but not the amazing dishes Roy Y. is known for. Staff was light. No bussers, no wiping the table clean. There was no time for attention to detail like we were used to at Roy's. There was no pastry chef, so the dessert offering lacked the signature lava cake. The meal was not memorable, just average ... hence 3 stars. The only thing “in excess” was the price. Despite the “vanilla” experience, the prices reflect a high-end experience. The value proposition was not aligned. Unless something changes we'll probably try other options on the North side of Maui. Again not a reflection on the people working at the location. The review is a reflection on the investment by management into the store, training, staffing and expectations.

My medium rare filet was rare and the garlic from the mashed potatoes overpowered everything. C- at best
My husband’s birthday dinner was a disaster. He ended up with food poisoning in the middle of the night. The atmosphere was lacking because all the blinds were pulled down despite our request to raise them. The “chef” improvised on my order changing my sides to include something I am allergic to and the salmon was NOT cooked to what I requested. Won’t be back or recommend!!

90 minutes from ordering to main course. Really disappointing. The restaurant is nothing special and the slow kitchen makes it not worth it.

Birthday dinner bombed. No pastry chef meant no souffle or upside down cake available. Food was not great. 2 out of six orders sent back for under cooked salmon. 2 out of six orders sent back because augratain potatoes were terribly oversalted. Server was very attentive and embarressed for the poor quality. I have been coming here for years every time we come to one of the Islands that have a Roy's. Terribly dissapointing experience for my 63rd Birthday. My daughter and her husband said they will never come back and made reservations the following night at Honu two nights later to make up for our terrible experience at Roys. Honu's was 100% better environment, better food, overall better experience.
COASTLINES & CURRENTS: A PACIFIC PAIRING JOURNEY Featuring Master Sommelier Chris Ramelb and Chef Garrett Mukogawa. What a fun event! Incredible food and wines!
The food was excellent with great wine pairing. I will be back for the next food and wine dinner. Everything was so good!
