Roy's used to be one of our favorite restaurants, but no longer. The menu has changed, the ribs were over-sauced, the shrimp were overcooked, and sadly, the chocolate soufflé never showed up. We waited at least 15 minutes after we finished and it still was not done. And YES, we ordered it at the same time we ordered dinner. Plus the restaurant is cold, air conditioning turned way up. Our server Desi was very kind and friendly.
The food was delicious and the service was prompt. I ordered the meat loaf which was a bit dry because it was put on the grill otherwise it was very good and and ample portion. My wife had the short ribs which was done to perfection.
Roy’s has alway been a longtime favorite restaurant. Whenever we happen to come upon a Roy’s in our travels to Hawaii, we make a point to enjoy a meal there. Longtime favorites include Szechuan grilled pork ribs and misoyaki butterfish. \n\nOn this particular visit, we arrived and had easy (and free) parking.
