Taverna is a gem. I had the double, which has mahi-mahi and ahi. It was done to perfection. Other in our group had opaka paka or pork chops. All were excellent. The drink menu is large and creative. The atmosphere and service were great.

We had an amazing dinner at Taverna last night. Manager Matty, bartender Chris and our server Shawn were all exceptional with friendly hospitality and incredible service. The food was first class from the delicious taro dinner rolls, the ahi appetizer and the excellent macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi, everything was perfectly prepared, presented and tasted amazing. I highly recommend Taverna and I compliment these gentlemen who made sure we had a great and enjoyable evening.

Taverna's has changed their menu. They are an Italian restaurant with no Italian food on the menu. No pasta. No bolognese. NO LASAGNA! Not worth showing up for with the new menu.

Our visit to Taverna was wonderful. Sean was our waiter and he was amazing. He reassured me that the kitchen would prepared my Ahi tuna exactly as I requested. They did and I had a delicious meal!

We really enjoyed our lunch for 3 at Taverna. The food was excellent as was the friendly service. The dining room is very attractive and outdoor seating is available. We ate inside as there was a breeze. We were impressed and will return.

We were able to get reservations here very easily last minute which we were initially worried about being a bad sign. We arrived early and were greeted warmly and seated right away at a nice table outdoors overlooking the practice range. The first thing we noticed was the LOUD atmosphere. There was live music indoors, on top of what we felt was very loud for outdoor dining. It was hard for us to talk at a comfortable volume. There were also two large groups with 4-5 children in each group running around in the grass and around the tables. It was very distracting. Not really the restaurants fault but it was very off putting. The waiter Shawn was friendly and informative but the service was very slow. We ordered appetizers and they came out right away. Entrees took a bit, and then there was a long delay after our plates had been cleared before we saw our server again. He didn't ask if we wanted more drinks or wine with dinner or coffee with dessert. Overall because the food was good and it was convenient to us staying at Montage I would probably dine again but just be aware that it's possibly not a peaceful dining experience.

Taverna has always been one of our favorite places to eat out when we visit Maui. The menu has dramatically changed, however, since the last time we were here. Their amazing lasagna is no longer on the menu and the pizzas are a lunchtime menu item only. Taverna now resembles more of a upscale fish house with more limited choices and higher price tag. We were disappointed.

If you haven't been back Taverna in a while. You need to go back they have a new owneras and a new chef. The menu is packed with great entrees for the whole family. Don't take my word for it just go you'll be delighted.

Unfortunately, this time around was not so good. Usually when we come to Maui, which is every year, we enjoy going to the restaurant having a great meal and good service. However, this year new management and they've changed everything on the menu to be almost all fish. Not a whole lot of options like they had before with the pasta and pizza. They do offer steaks, but be ready to pay a very high bill. Service was just OK, our waitress did not return to our table for over 30 minutes. Upon getting done with our meal, we end up having to go find somebody to pay the bill. So sad as this is one of our favorite restaurants when we come each and every year  They do offer steaks, but be ready to pay a very high bill.

The food was marginal at best. On a positive note, Our server was delightful and very attentive. Highly unlikely that we'll return

Great spot! Came with a party of 8 and everyone thoroughly loved their food and drinks. Even the pickiest among us enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service. Try the fresh fish dishes and cocktails to round out the experience. They even had a place outside near the tables where kids gathered to play. Super happy we came here.
