My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The 1 star is generous. Every dish ordered had a strong, unpleasant aroma which, while likely a result of a specific cooking technique, did not complement every item. The quality of the food did not justify its price by any means. Additionally, the servers were overly intrusive, making for an uncomfortable dining experience. Unfortunately, my husband and I left feeling both dissatisfied and hungry.

Service was great! But the food very average. My recommendation for improvement to the restaurant pay close attention to the back of the kitchen. The fish for 2 had scales, no flavor. Brussels Sprouts were not good.

I dined here last week and got scromboid poisoning from the fish. My husband is an emergency physician and diagnoses food poisoning all the time. We notified the hotel and restaurant to ensure nobody else got sick and were not believed. We then had to email and phone Marriott Claims Services to try and get reimbursed for the food that made me so ill- on principle. They considered it a “insurance claim” and would not help us because I had not gone to a hospital or urgent care to get labs directly relating my illness to the food. And this was told to me after an invasive phone interview about my symptoms and medical history. I am so unimpressed with this whole experience. If you dine here, do not eat any seafood! It is not safely stored.

We had the prix fixe Christmas dinner. Food and drinks were excellent. Service was not as good as I would have expected. A few hiccups, but it was the holiday, so not totally unexpected. I know the staff was doing the best they could and appreciate their efforts.

Had the opportunity to have the New York strip and was cooked to perfection 10/10
Great atmosphere for business meeting or dates but personally I would like the servers to be dressed a little bit more professionally, but overall great place to eat, also 5 star for asking about any allergies or dietary restrictions when coming in!

I went here in 2023 when I was staying at the Ritz. The views are nice, and the setting of the place is cute. During the day this would be a great spot to grab a drink at the bar and see the views.
The food was good. We got a mix of things to eat. We started off with the Hawaiian Ahi Poke Bowl and the we got the prime beef tenderloin and the banyan tree seafood curry.
The staff was nice and got us a seat close to the fire pits.
If you are staying around the area, give this place a try.

We were pretty underwhelmed with The Banyan Tree. The service was okay, but not great. The ambiance is lovely; it is a beautiful resort, to be sure. And the food was just okay, not nearly worth what they charge. We were there celebrating my wife's birthday, hoping for a nice romantic dinner. Initially, we were seated inside with a large group of loud customers. I asked to be reseated in a quieter location, and we were then seated outside, which was quite nice. We ordered the grilled octopus, which was like trying to eat a tire. I could hardly cut or chew through it. I sent it back. We also had the Coconut Red Curry Seafood. It had a great curry flavor but was sparse on ingredients, not nearly all that was listed on the menu...for almost $80! We shared that dish and called it a night. There are some really great restaurants in the area that would be worth a visit, but this is certainly not one of them. The customer service at the resort is second to none, but at The Banyan Tree, this is certainly not the case. Off to Mama's Fish House for some really excellent dining!

Booked my reservation a month in advance, knowing it’s going to be a busy weekend around Thanksgiving. It was a birthday dinner. Supposed to be special. Got seated on the sidelines, considering it was somewhat rainy and windy. I would not say that the restaurant was overly crowded and by the time we got our drinks, there were other more sheltered tables available. But instead of getting reseated to be more comfortable the staff offered us pool towels, so we could be more warm and less wet… I declined, I didn’t dress up for a meal in fancy restaurant to be seating wrapped in a pool towel. We asked if we could be seated at a table next to us that was more sheltered. Had to go through 3 levels of approval all the way to the head hostess to get the permission. The food was really average. The kid’s vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce came out without chocolate sauce. Ordered mahi-mahi for my entree. The fish was nice, but the dish was tasteless. My macadamia nut crusted mahi at Hulu grill had more taste and flavor. Also, as a rule a respectable establishment would offer a complimentary birthday dessert, but not this restaurant. I felt like I had to advocate for myself to get attentive service. I would not recommend this place for a special occasion or celebration. I did not feel like I got any more special service or food than any other place along the coast line on any normal day. Spent over 500 dollars with a tip and left feeling disappointed. This was our worst dining experience on the island during our week long stay.

Very disappointed dining here. Food choices were limited, service was adequate but not personable. Waitress never checked on us or asked if we were happy with our entree, which we weren’t. We won’t be returning after a lengthy time away. We were hoping they found there niche but unfortunately they haven’t.
Btw, we spent over $300, such a waste.

We went here for my husband‘s birthday, and the meal was delicious. We had a beautiful filleted fish (red snapper). Nick was our server, he was fantastic and made our evening even more special. Beautiful location we even had a little kitty cat visitor from down by the beach.
Very nice atmosphere and location, it is a far walk to to the restuarant from the front entrance of the Ritz but this also gives a great view. Food quality was not comparable to the price, better food available for lower cost from other nearby restaurants. Service was excellent although slow because of lack of serves. This was not the fault of the specific servers but of the restuarant management
My husband and I shared a whole fish with mushrooms and a mixture of vegetables. The meal was excellent. Lots of flavor with sauce on the side. The service was less spectacular. We sat for several minutes with food on the table, but no plates. I had to waive down the waiter to get plates. And the meal was getting cold. We were sitting outside with lovely view of the Pacific Ocean. So maybe the waiters were too few to pay attention to the number of diners. At the end, I ordered Keoki Coffee - got Bailey Coffee instead. Waiter brought another coffee from the bar, but that was not what I ordered either. He did comp the coffee. So great food, not great service.
Another on property dining restaurant that you would be much better to leave and go elsewhere. Quality is fine however rather limited menu. Consider the expense as very high. Not a great value.
