The food was just ok. The ambiance was noisy, service was acceptable. Nothing exciting for our first dinner at Maui
My husband and I had a great experience for our first night on the island for our honeymoon. Kate gave us excellent service and the food was very delicious.
Excellent service from a waitress conscious that we had two children under 3. Excellent food with creative flavor mixes.
Best chilaquiles I've ever had! My husband had the Benedict and the jalapeño hollaindaise sauce was delicious
Food was excellent. Both of our drinks were not what we ordered, but the server didn't come back to check on us until after our meals arrived....other than that the service was great.
James our waiter was excellent and very attentive The food was very tasty well presented! We had the ice cream cookie for dessert. It was fabulous.
Overall OK, but not up to our normal experience with Merriman's restaurants. Mai-tais are the same and fantastic, but we were a little disappointed with the food. My fish was cold and the green beans were a little under cooked. Not awful, just not up to Merriman's standards. Service was OK but not really great.
This restaurant was the only onsite food option for Westin resort and spa. During our stay we had 1 group dinner + 3 breakfast experiences. For 3 of 4 experiences, the staff was underwhelming; in fact, for the dinner ( on a busy night, for a large group) , Annika was borderline hostile. Only Susie at breakfast on Tuesday was truly professional. The food was ok. Dinner options were a little fussy and over-seasoned. Breakfast options were really good and well-prepared.
Sat at the bar. Great service, steak frites was amazing. Husband had clams and macadamia mahi mahi. Delicious and pricey.
Until breakfast with lots of variety for whatever you want to eat. We especially liked the pancakes with lilikoi foam. These moist sweet pancakes were delicious! The staff was warm friendly and helpful when asked general questions. The place is set right on the beach in the Westin, so beautiful

Appetizers were delicious, crab cake, pork dumpling best ever, clams broth delicious and off course the escargot, mai tai absolutely best, broccoli salad very good, lobster ravioli were just good
The food was average compared to the price, which is definitely on the higher side at this restaurant. The espresso martini was very good. I ordered the lobster ravioli — it was tasty, but it only came with five pieces and could have been better for the price.
We had a wonderful dinner at Ulu. The first time our server was Kate and she was able to describe the dishes that she thought we would like. She is wonderful and she was very attentive. We tried the coconut corn chowder at her suggestion and it was the best. I love how the restaurant comes up with these dishes that I would not ordinarily order. Next we had the Waipoli Farms mixed greens salad. It was also delicious. For our entree that we also split we had the Maui Nui Venison. She also said how much she loved this dish and she was right. Again the spices were mixed to pefection the sauce was great and the Venison tasted great and the serving was quite generous. My husband had the Mai Tai a Merriman specialty and I had wine. Dinner was so good we came back and sat outside. Kelsey was our server. It was beautiful for sunset and the music is great. We had the Brocoli salad per Kate's and Kelsey's recommendation and Ono macadamia crusted special fish dish. All were delicious and I had a chocolate Martini that Kelsey created just for me along with wine and he had a Mai tai. Both servers were excellent and the ambiance is great. We will be back.
Food just isn't that good. We are foodie's and the food just isn't amazing. I'd go to a more casual spot that has better food.
This is a beautiful location so we enjoyed that very much. But the food was disappointing and quite expensive. Everything seemed to be overly heavy with either spicy chilies or lemon. The crabcakes were so lemony we couldn't taste the crab. The corn chowder had hot chilies and my husband had to send it back. Even the focaccia bread had chilies on top. My son and his wife enjoyed their macadamia crusted mahi-mahi. The coconut shrimp was a total surprise since it is shrimp in a very sweet coconut sauce, not at all what we were expecting. There is no description in the menu. Overall we will not return.
