I recently visited Umalu, and I was beyond impressed — especially as someone who follows a plant-based diet. It’s not always easy to find restaurants that offer more than just one token vegan dish, but this place absolutely delivered!
The vegan options were plentiful, creative, and delicious.
If you’re vegan, vegetarian, or just looking to try something new and healthy without sacrificing flavor, Umalu is a must-visit.

Great outdoor pool location if you’re after a casual meal at the bar with the sunset, music and live sport going. I went twice and had the poke both times, two different ways. My friend had the burger and said it was great. The staff here are welcoming and friendly as well.

By accident we wandered along the beach . ...and found Umalu..we were hungry; now our tummy's are Happy 😁... I ordered the Ono with fennel and mushrooms. My wife ordered the Street Taco 🌮 s. Absolutely amazing!

Food is good. Highly recommend salad and add protein. Decent price since it’s in the Hyatt hotel and open late. Portion is regular, not too much not too little. Drinks are a little bit more but the bartenders can’t be more friendly. Have fun there and talk to them and ask for their new trials or testings, you would be surprised.

Very friendly service, beautiful views, and they had a great plant-based menu to offer once we told them we were vegan.
Vegetarian options: I had a gluten free taro burger and my partner had the vegan fish and chips. We both loved our dishes! The smaller, plant-based menu has a good variety of options and makes it very easy to order vegan.
Dietary restrictions: They have a good number of items that can be made both vegan and gluten free. They told me that they use a dedicated GF fryer and do their best to avoid cross contamination for customers that request GF items.

This restaurant is part of Hyatt Regency and is pool side. Food itself is very average. Ordered the taro veggie burger which was good but flavorless. The tofu veggie rice stated good but had 4 small pieces of tofu. You expect a little more when the dish has tofu as it's first word (they can probably call it zucchini rice)
Mai Tai was served in plastic glasses which doesn't make sense for an expensive dine in restaurant.
I have had some amazing times here, however, my last visit was not what it should be, I went to see the live music, got a drink which was made wrong, tried to explain, but they didn't care, mind you it was an $18 drink, I drank it anyway, the bar cleared out leaving me the only person at the bar, the female bartender ignored me and left my drink sit empty for over 30 minutes, I was enjoying the music which is why I was there, but then there instantly was a party upstairs that had a dj that completely over took the music of the person playing you couldn't even hear him any more, between that and being the only person at the bar being ignored while the bartender stood with her arms folded and her back to me for almost 30 minutes I had enough, wont be back date was May 13 pm
