I’m torn. Food is good. We got our order and took it to the place we are staying. We ordered banana pancakes and a loco moco mini. That’s not what we opened up and were disappointed to find fried rice, eggs, and pork links and likely a regular loco moco with mushrooms.
I’m lucky, i love mushrooms, still far too much food for me. Hubby was extremely disappointed. He’s been looking forward to banana pancakes since we got here. When we first came, they were closed and out of town. (Notice on the windows but not on Google profile) when we came on the day they said they would be open (twice) they still were not open. So we gave out one last try today. And our order was accidentally switched with someone else, which they were likely more disappointed than us. They are busy catching up from being closed, but it doesn’t change that it’s been frustrating. For us it’s not a big deal, it happens, it’s not a crisis by any means, (1st world problems), just disappointing. But again, the food was really good and the prices are very reasonable especially with the amount of food. Worth a stop, just bring extra patience.

Food was awesome! Great portions, great price (compared to other places we’ve eaten) and friendly staff. Take out only and make sure you have cash. Will definitely come here again!

Local restaurant with great food and service. Breakfast was amazing. My husband said it's the best omelet he's ever had. I had coconut pancakes that were excellent. There's not a place to sit and eat. It's definitely takeout. But we drove to the Hukilau beach literally two minutes away to eat. Eating coconut pancakes while looking at the ocean is pretty much heaven on earth, just saying.

Food tastes very homemade and simple. I tired the banana pancakes and fried egg Sandwhich. Take out only. We found a place next to the beach to eat.

Very satisfied with the omelet and Loco Moco. Unfortunately we found this place the last morning of our stay in Hawaii, otherwise we would've come back. It took about 10 minutes to get the food and you could tell it was a popular local spot due to all the people waiting in line. Staff was friendly and nice. The neighborhood is quiet and calm but it was somewhat hard to find parking.

Amazing food cooked to order home style. The friendliest staff Carly was great! And helped us plan our trip with the coolest spots! Food was “Slap yo mamma” good!

It was our first time trying this place, and unfortunately, the experience wasn’t great. We only ordered a mini loco moco and beef teriyaki, but it took about 20 minutes to get our food. Meanwhile, two other couples who arrived after us, and even ordered more food, were served before us. When we followed up, we were just told “not yet,” with no explanation or update.
To add to that, they only gave us one fork, even though it was clearly an order for two (they saw us).
On the bright side, the beef teriyaki was actually good, it was sweet and flavorful. But the loco moco was just okay, nothing special.
We were really hoping for a better first impression. Hopefully, they can improve their service and attention to customers moving forward.

Did I come because of the movie? Of course. Did the food exceed my expectations? Most definitely. It’s a cute neighborhood spot! It was a bummer you can’t go inside to eat but the service and food make up for it! Seriously so good. The banana pancakes were so yummy and the loco moco is mouth watering.

This rating is only for the loco moco. I would try something else on the menu next time.
Takeout only at this time.

We highly recommend this local restaurant. There was not seating, only pickup. We tried their special fried rice and supreme omelet twice. Food was great both times and so was the service.

The food portions and taste are great!🍳👌 They're only open from 7 am until 11:30 AM ⏰, so make sure to get there early.
Wait time for food varies — I’d say around 10–20 minutes.⏳ You’ll need to pick it up yourself, as there are no tables for dining in. No parking or you have to park in the neighborhood.
My recommendation: head to the Laie Temple Visitor Center and the nearby water fountain area.⛲️ It's just a 1-minute drive from the café. There are benches, beautiful green grass, and trees — the cleanest place in the state of Hawaii!🌴✨ Plus, there’s plenty of free parking.🚗✅
