Great server! Good food. Conveniently located at the Polynesian Culture Center! The staff knows their stuff when it comes to gluten free!
Our waiter was Dayne. Dayne was professional, kind, and eager to assist. This was our 2nd time at this establishment and it was a disappointment. Today June 9th the chef was different from our last visit on Tuesday June 3rd. The chef that worked on June 3rd was by far amazing and deserves an award. Unfortunately this resturant lacks consistency. The reason for our 2nd visit was because we enjoyed everything about this restaurant and brought back 2 family members. Unfortunately, we were embarrassed that we praised this restaurant so highly and told friends and family to check it out but fell short on our 2nd visit. There was also a blonde woman who was an employee who was very rude and needed to learn about the culture of the land and of the people. Her body language towards us was beyond disbelief and when asked a question "Do you provide kama'aina discount" she rudely answered and walked away. When we received our initial bill Kama'aina discount was provided and we paid with a credit card. When Dayne returned a different bill was provided and the Kama'aina discount was removed from our initial bill, why? POUNDERS had to refund our original payment and re-charge us a 2nd time. Last night we spent $396.00 and waiting 5-7 business days for a refund to be processed on our initial bill. The business practices that was provided does not meet legal practices. If you provide a bill and I provide a payment you charge me more???? And upon returning you provide a bill of more value and don't explain. What can be done to rectify this situation? When asked we received no explanation. Help
Good food at a reasonable (for Hawaii) prices. We had pizza, and ate outside (mid-afternoon when they weren't busy), so no noise issues, and wonderful, attentive service.
VERY Slow..... service. When food finally came all six entries were cold or lukewarm! Also we had to wait and beg for, ketchup, refills and the check. Not at all what we had hoped for. Want be back or recommend!
Pounders has gone entirely downhill over the past two years. Everyone's favorite dishes have been removed from the menu. Service was slow and neglectful. Prices have gone through the roof for food that was lower quality than the food trucks just outside the restaurant. Very very disappointed in what they've done. Will not be returning.
Horrible experience. Food took nearly an hour after placing our order. Waitress offered 15% off our bill as courtesy but still doesn't make up for our poor experience. Not sure how this place can survive doing this but it's the only sit-down option available at the Polynesian Cultural Center aside from the luau or buffet. Would suggest going with the food truck options instead...
Food was MEH.... Moco Loco meal was nothing to write home about. I asked for over easy eggs and medium rare burger- received over hard and well done burger. Waitress never asked us how our meal was. Waitress never offered refills on our water or sodas. After we left, we reviewed bill and found that they charged us 20% gratuity (party of 6) but server never told us about it when she left the bill, so we inadvertently gave another tip on top of that. Wouldn't eat here again.
We had a great experience at Pounders. Mango Pizza was delicious along with the Shrimp Tacos. Service was good! We sat outside so we enjoyed the atmosphere.
Not many options for indoor dining, so this was our choice.
The service was polite, clear, and concise.
Our appetizer and main entre were delivered in a timely manner.
My bacon cheese burger was overcooked, well done, burnt edges.
My biggest complaint is that they started stacking chairs, sweeping the floors, and cleaning glass doors before closing. They started cleaning around us. I asked, "Are you closing soon?"(sarcastically). They responded, "Don't worry, take your time, we're getting a head start". But really? How welcoming is that? Would you do that at home with your dinner guests?
This destroyed our overall experience.

I made a reservation for a day that the restaurant isn't even open. Neither Open Table nor the restaurant itself bothered to inform me of that fact, so our 15 year wedding anniversary was ruined.
Pounders used to be one of my favorite spots, but unfortunately, things have gone downhill since the new ownership took over. Prices have noticeably gone up, which might be forgivable if the quality remained the same… It feels like they’re more focused on increasing profits than keeping their loyal customers happy. The fact that the pizza dough is pre-made is a joke to be honest I could taste that right away and asked the server who confirmed. Menu needs update too as multiple items were not available anymore. Also there was no music, when asked the answer was the music has to do with the pcc but the restaurant is not part of it anymore. It’s especially disappointing as a local, because it seems like they no longer care about catering to returning customers or the community. Overall, it’s not the same place it used to be, and sadly, I’m not sure it’s worth it anymore.

Even though there were many empty seats, the other two guests were offered tables for four, but only our table was shown a table for two.
