Shoutout to the aunties serving delicious food here. Wow, this has been the best Saimin I’ve ever had. I love the hospitality and the family atmosphere here.

Food was ok but the servers were really rude and ignored us, only prioritizing the locals.

Noodles are great and an affordable price. Love our mother she's the best in the house and so friendly. Another piece of pie please. Ambiance is great and a very popular place among locals too

I was misled into coming here by the ludicrous five star yelp reviews, big mistake. It's a dump and the food was awful. The old woman who waited on us was miserable. She tossed the menus at us, and gave us a few seconds to decide what we wanted. I asked her more than once for another minute to decide, but she scowled, impatient and annoyed with me, jabbing her finger at the menu and pointing at what she expected me to order, large saiman, and she told my wife she could have a small. The lukewarm broth tasted like salty dishwater. The grey slabs of pork in the bowl were tough, dried out, and cold, and if you can't cook an egg without the yolk turning black, what are you doing running a restaurant? I've had great saiman at numerous restaurants around Hawaii, but this was a joke. I felt like a bum eating at a welfare soup kitchen. Not recommended.

Great food, great service, cash only. Quaint place to enjoy Saimin. Always packed but seating moves fast. Parking may be a challenge on a busy day.

A local favorite and family-owned business. One of the few places in Lihue that's open late. Visiting relatives always make time to dine here. Seating is first come first serve. Cash only. You can call in to go orders but it isn't made until you get there. Special saimin and beef skewer finished with a tart but light lilikoi chiffon pie is what I usually order. Chicken skewers can sometimes be undercooked. Help yourself to hot mustard, soy sauce, and chili pepper water vinegar condiments on the table. Wipe down your utensils before eating. They also serve manapua! Parking lot is full on second Saturday nights because of the Lihue Night Market until 8:30. There is no waiting room or benches, prepare to have somebody stand in line down the ramp when it's busy. There is a unisex restroom inside. I believe they are closed on September when the whole staff is on vacation.

Had the special saimin here. The broth and the noodles were great. The pork was tender and very flavorful. The wonton however was extremely disappointing and felt like reheated wonton rather than freshly made. Service was ok. Be aware that they only take cash.Wheelchair accessibility: They have wheelchair accessible tables but the doorway is barely wheelchair accessible.

Grilled chicken to start. Large Saimin was too big to finish... Great experience. Must visit when on Kauai.
