This was easily the best food we had on the island but it’s not cheap. Service was OK but it took too long to be seated and the restaurant had plenty of empty seats while we waited. I am not sure why they don’t just sit you down right away. Parking is difficult as well.

I expected to have sushi, no sushi here. We ordered the butterfish and egg plant, chicken and tofu, and shrimp tempura. This was the first time our meals were not finished, the tempura was greasy, the chicken… hard pass, the butterfish was okay and probably the best of the three dishes. We had the fried tempura tofu appetizer, it was delicious, and furikake fries, also delicious. We had higher hopes for this place but we’ll pass next time.

I lived in Japan for several years. The Teishoku I had at Kiibo (shimp tempura + beef teriyaki) had me on the verge of tears because it took me back to Japan! I can't recommend this place enough!

The Agedashi chicken katsu was off da wall! I rate it #1 out of all the Japanese restaurants in Hawaii. Tempura veggies & shrimp was extra lite & crispy too. Whatever kind of dressing they put on the cabbage is soo good!
Excellent Japanese entrees but no sushi. The agadashi tofu (fried tofu in dashi sauce) and agadashi mochi (fried mochi aka pounded rice cakes) are excellent appetizers.

What a great find! The food was fabulous! I had butterfish and my husband had shrimp and vegetable tempura. Limited drink menu (just a few beers and sakis) but the matcha IPA was a good choice. Located in a dark side street which is a little weird but very nice decor inside.

What I ordered: katsu-don with the fried katsu and egg sauce separate + additional Japanese curry sauce cup on the side for a $5 surcharge, pick-2 combo of beef sukiyaki and beef teriyakiWe were also served complementary pickled veggies, cabbage salad, miso soup, green tea, and barley tea for our meal. Spent just over $80 without tip included, none of the accoutrements are pictured unfortunately as our table was smaller than our appetite.What I thought: the most amazing service & food experience I’ve had on Kauai thus far, I cannot recommend this place enough. We walked in an hour before they closed and had a complicated order and they absolutely nailed what I wanted on the head, our server was a very nice Asian woman who I can’t remember the name of. Bf and I ordered so much food we’ll have delicious dinner leftovers for breakfast tomorrow!
