We stayed at the Kauai Beach Resort and went to Shutters the first night to get a drink to have while walking on the beach. It was not high quality. I saw the "bartender" go to the cooler and grab a premixed "manhattan" in a glass and pour it into a plastic cup for us to go out to the beach area. My wife had a mai tai. We ate here on our first night on the island of Kauai. Very convenient since we were staying at the resort. get there early and enjoy appetizers with killer mai tai drinks. Our server was very friendly.
We arrived late on Saturday from Melbourne via Oahu and were tired to go out to meals outside the Kauai Beach Resort. We decided to dine in and also the other attraction was the Hula dance that was to be staged in the evening. To our disappointment, the dance was cancelled but to our pleasant surprise the place had good food with equally charming waitress.
