Stopped in for a late breakfast. Table had a regular American breakfast, waffles, pancakes and I had the brisket moko loco. All the food was good. The brisket was nicely smoked and tender. The gravy was tasty. The atmosphere is a bit of a dive diner but everything was clean and the staff were friendly. It absolutely is a family run business and that, plus the good food means it is a great place to stop for a bite.

Service was great and food came out fast. The resto is also cute. The shoyu chicken has great flavor but giving this a 3 star for the beef brisket they gave us, it was literally a slab of fat with some strains of meat on it. Had to throw 80% of the meat away as it was just fat.

Shoyu chicken was so good. Also love that you can get smaller portions so that you can try multiple dishes instead of just one big dish. Staff was friendly.

I've lived in Makawao for 32 years and the first time I've eaten here (waitress said they've only been at this location for 2 years). My brother was visiting from Oahu so we walked around Makawao looking for a place to eat. Staff was friendly & the food was ono.
Great food, great people!

I loved this spot. Great laid back vibes and phenomenal service. The smell from the kitchen was great and it made for an easy choice of picking food from the menu.

It’s a Great building, with cool vibes but sadly that’s about all this restaurant has going for it, it was the worst food I’ve ever had at a diner ever, and that’s saying something because I was stoned to the bone with insane munchies when I walked in. I hated it but I didn’t want to waste food so I gave it a chance and I couldn’t even eat half a patty before giving up. I was met with extreme attitude upon politely criticizing the food. I ordered the loco moco for 20$ and got watered down gravy, unseasoned meat patties that were tough and tasted like dirty dishes. The eggs were good but everything was super soggy because the rice was extremely overcooked and almost had a porridge/playdough consistency with dirty dishwasher water seemingly being the main seasoning in the rice. have no idea how you mess a loco moco up, but they did a great job doing that. And they pissed me and my friend off while they were at it by being rude and telling us to put salt and pepper on our food to make it taste better and complaining to us saying we don’t have to pay. I still paid because they’re a local business but screw that, Gordon Ramsey needs to pay this place a visit and put yall in line because this owner is flat out delusional.
The loco moco was bland and the rice was over cooked. The service was less than receptive about our feelings. The panini sandwich was a grilled cheese with some ham on it; mediocre at best.
My friend and I stopped in for breakfast and loved this place. I had the acai bowl and added lillikoi butter and it was AMAZING!! The staff was super friendly and welcoming and gave us great ideas of cute places to shop after breakfast. My friend also ordered an açaí bowl but didn’t finish it and they held it in their freezer so we could shop and it wouldn’t melt. I wanted to go back but ran out of time. I highly recommend!

This food sadly just didn’t hit the spot. Instead of spending $50, we spent $40 for a a very average waffle with the mush ihop fruit on top and a very plain disposable plate of rice, heated up spam, and spiceless/plain scrambled eggs we could have made at home. We go out to experience creativity with combinations and flavors, and while the service and atmosphere was good the food just wasn’t.
