I love cookies, but these don't float my boat. I've had them before, years ago, and recently got to taste them again.
I knew I should've taken a picture of the single cookie that was gifted to us before breaking it up into pieces, as there are no pictures on here! I guess I must use words to describe it...
The cookie is shaped like a rounded rectangle, about a half inch high, about 5 inches long, 4 inches wide, and golden brown. I'm not sure what makes it so solid, but it could be used as a deadly weapon. It is bitable with healthy teeth, anything else forget about it. It's semi-crunchy and crumbly. The sugar level is similar to the Danish butter cookies in the blue can, but without the buttery flavor, resulting in total subtleness, bordering on blandness. I have no idea where the love is in this, but to each his/her own. I hear some dip the cookie into hot coffee to soften it; that just might be the trick.
Try it just to say you did. You may even like it!

Best mochi donuts on the island! Friendly and helpful to all customers 😀

I stopped on a Saturday morning when people were literally streaming in from every direction, with smiles on their faces, to get to this bakery! The storefront is barely larger than a walk-in closet, so it was quite crowded. But the kind ladies were super efficient and the line moved fast. I was impressed with their pie selection. They had full size cherry, peach, coconut, and even chicken pies! There were two flavors of butter horns, strawberry cream shortcakes and a half dozen flavors of those legendary mochi donuts. I got a lilikoi cheesecake mochi donut. Boy was it light and delicate, with that nice little bit of chewiness that mochi is famous for. It wasn't overly sweet. A little tartness from the lilikoi balanced it out perfectly. This bakery is an absolute gem and I can't wait to come back and try another one of their specialties!

Small place, but Mochi Doughnuts are the best
Such a cute bakery with the most delicious mochi donuts. Highly recommend getting here early and trying all the different flavors they offer. We also really loved the butter roles! The staff are super friendly and ordering with them is always a pleasant experience. Cannot say enough good things about this bakery!
The Mochi donuts?? Absolutely a must have. The BEST strawberry shortcake I've ever had. (Youre on Hawaii, get that powdered sugar.), you honestly can't go wrong. Super friendly, the stone cookies are a treasure! Get there early!
I am sad to see a sign posted 05/11/2024 that they are permanently close!
This place, seemingly a hole in the wall, was REALLY good. We went the first day of our trip, before seeing the volcano. It was full of mainly locals. It set the bar VERY high for Hawaiian bakeries for the rest of our trip. Changed our lives forever.
