It's been a while since I've ate here. Everytime I come it's been enjoyable, I just don't frequent Paia often. Yes, it's a hippie (sometimes smelly) tourist town lol but there are some gems worth checking out. Cafe Des Amis is one of those places worth going to Paia for. This thriving little gem of a restaurant reminds me so much of my home town, Eugene, Oregon, in the 1960's and 70's that I to go twice just to confirm I hadn't somehow unknowingly dropped a tab and dimension hopped. The breakfast we had here was magic on our taste buds!!! I had the breakfast quesadilla and the love of my life had a gluten-free breakfast crepe. We slid the generous helping of sour cream off the top because the bacon, mild cheddar, and avocado were enough! The cooling breeze and the visiting finches were a nice addition to the ambience, we were served by friendly and attentive staff that made our visit to Paia that much more memorable.
