Fantastic vegetarian & vegan meals in a beautiful setting. Part restaurant, part art gallery, part high-quality gift store, and part tranquil garden. Very close to Volcanoes National Park. Wonderful place with lovely people. Cannot recommend highly enough.
I’m not a vegetarian but this place was amazing. Wonderful vibes in the gallery, garden, and inside the cafe. Mr. Ono and the rest of the staff were welcoming and thoughtful. If you are near the volcano national park this is a wonderful quaint spot to enjoy the calming nature of this cafe.
Came here with my husband after our hike in HVNP and couldn’t have been happier with our decision! The ambience is spectacular. A quaint, tranquil cafe with plenty of outdoor seating options. The food was delicious as well! My husband raved about his lasagna and after trying a bite, I completely understood. My artichoke and pesto sandwich was so refreshing as well. We then got to talk with Ira, the owner, for awhile after our meal. What a wholesome, kind man. He gave us so many tips of local things to do and was just the most pleasant. Our waitress (didn’t catch her name unfortunately) was also so great! So friendly and efficient. Exploring the grounds and the gallery was a perfect way to end the meal. HIGHLY recommend. We are going to try to make it back before we leave!!
Great food, beautiful garden setting.
This place, vibe and food is amazing.
We throughly enjoyed our meal here, the cafe and its vibes are also beautiful. The food was delicious we got the lasagna and the artichoke sandwich!! Highly recommend wish we could have ate here again but ran out of time.
Go visit their secret garden
I don’t understand this high rating.
We arrived here at 12:20. Food didn’t come out until 1:50!! A waitress came out 45min after we ordered food and said “I am sorry. We ran out of the menu you ordered.” They kept saying too busy. What kind of service is that?!
Food came out finally around 1:55. I had a lasagna which was pretty plain, neither good nor bad. It is so anticlimactic we waited for 1 and half hour and ate a mediocre food
Excellent food and service! The garden is gorgeous!
Lovely gallery and cafe, super cozy and beautifully cared for garden. The food is delicious.

Hidden gem for vegetarian and vegan food near Volcano National Park!
We ordered the Coconut Lentil Curry, which was incredibly flavorful and perfectly satisfying for two people. The staff were excellent—warm, welcoming, and attentive. The attached gallery is filled with beautiful artwork and handmade gifts that are definitely worth browsing.
A must-visit spot!
So cute and whimsical! Loved the vegan lunch, exploring the gardens, and buying unique gifts from local artists. 10/10 recommend
Great lasagna and awesome garlic bread. Don't miss a wander through the secret garden, it's really special.
Great place to have a healthy lunch: we were there on a terribly rainy day and felt a warm welcome from the staff. Even without the garden, which is certainly the best point there, it was worth a visit. The Art Gallery of Mr Ono is full of nice stuff to discover and purchase. We enjoyed our time there, as we were a bit lost in Volcano village that day!
A delightful art gallery and restaurant. The miso mushroom soup was excellent, the open faced egg salad sandwich was OK, and coffee was also excellent. Make sure you visit the “secret garden”; a truly amazing short walk through Hawaiian tropical flowers and plants.
